They keep my hands warm and I can use my cell phone easily. I got frustrated with cell phone gloves that don't work well on cell phone screens or stop working on touch screens after a while. I bought these for my child, but I've been using these flip mittens for over 2 years. I'm 5'4"with average size hands for a woman, but they fit me! I gave a pair to the neighborhood crossing guard on a cold day and now she wears them too. They're inexpensive enough that I can give a pair away and buy another pair. I don't use the button to hook the mitten flap back. I've put them through the laundry without a problem.
