Q&A(16)

Q: is each jar 12oz or 2oz?

submitted by may - 8 years ago
  • A: Hello! We're so sorry for the delay in response. Each jar has a 4oz capacity. The measurements are marked up to 2oz for portion reference only, it's not a max fill line. The machines that decorate the jars can't go past the lip of the jar, that's why they are marked to 2oz and not all the way up to 4oz.

  • A: 2 oz. They are tiny.

  • A: I have these. They are actually 4oz jars. They are marked up to 2oz as a measurement reference, not as a capacity reference.

Q: Is it safe to freeze and then reheat the jars?

submitted by Jwoo - 8 years ago
  • A: yes. I microwaved it plenty after freezing, never a problem. for thawing food in toaster oven, i first wash the closed jar with warm water, remove lid, place in COLD oven. then set temperature to 375F and bake for around 10 mins. the pre-heating time also helps it acclimitize. No cracked glass yet. there are bottle warmers you could use for thawing frozen food too. haven't tried.

  • A: I'm not sure what the manufacturer recommends, but I have stored breastmilk in the freezer in the jars. I usually thaw the milk in the fridge first, and transfer to a bottle for heating. Occasionally I do the initial thaw while the milk is still in the jar if in I'm in hurry. I just make sure to start the jar in cold water and heat up slowly, and I haven't had any of them break.

  • A: Hello! So sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, it is safe to freeze and then reheat the jars. Our glass jars are made of very strong and thick glass. However, all glass has the potential to break if exposed to extreme temperature changes. We recommend using care when you are transitioning the glass between hot and cold or cold to hot. -Let food cool before storing in the fridge or freezer -Leave room for expansion when filling the jars -Do not go directly from the freezer to very hot water -Do not microwave frozen or very cold jars except on a low setting with the lid removed
