A: Hey Cazza! Thanks for reaching out. This lamp uses a threaded socket nut to secure the shade to the socket on the lamp. The bulb will screw into the slot after the shade is secured. This design is also often called a threaded Uno shade.

This lamp comes with a cheaply made shade. I also didn’t like that the switch to turn it on is so far down the cord. It makes it awkward trying to turn the lamp on.

I bought Smoke Grey and as you can see they probably put a warm filter on the online photo because the base definitely looks more cool and indigo in person. And the shade is light… not dark like in the photo. I might keep it if I change the lightbulb it came with to a warm color and it looks more like the color in the online catalog.

I’ll preface this by saying that I really like shopping at Target, both online and in store. I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with a purchase until now. I ordered two of these lamps for a guest room that I’m redecorating. One lamp was delivered, but the shade was dented and the glass was shattered. The second lamp was never delivered even though it was marked as such. I requested refunds for both and those were approved right away. I just don’t know why the second lamp was marked as delivered when it wasn’t. As for the first lamp, it seemed to be packed well, so I’m not sure why it was broken. In the end, Target made it right. Unfortunately, I had to order from Amazon in order to get another two lamps to have the room ready in time for guests.

Super cute lamp, but the light bulb extends almost to the top of the shade. Unless you place it at eye level or above, you'll be staring down at a bare glowing light bulb. Sad to send it back, but it's too harsh a glare to use on a low table.

This is the second time I’ve received a damage furniture item from Target in a year. The lampshade had a burn mark on it and the glass appeared scratched. Not sure how that happened. It’s a white shade so it was pretty noticeable. Is there no quality control on items before they are shipped? I would want a replacement but not if it’s going to be damaged again.

It's a very simple but pretty lamp. I like it so much I bought another one after receiving the first one. FYI, the photo shown isn't the actual color. To me the photo looks like it's more of a teal/turquoise. The one I received is a soft green color, almost like seaglass. It's very pretty and works well.
