Thankfully, you can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Also, if you have Alexa, Google offers a Smart Home skill for integrating your Nest doorbell with Amazon's Alexa home control. Alexa can announce when someone presses the doorbell or when the doorbell detects motion or events. Visit the Google Nest Help Center to learn about how to control the Nest devices with Amazon Alexa.
A: Hello there. You can easily set up your Google Nest Doorbell (Wired) 2nd Gen using just one device. There's no need to involve your service provider. Want to share access with others? Just follow these simple steps: 1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app. 2. If you have more than one home, tap Favorites . 3. At the top, select the home you want to edit. 4. Tap Settings Settings icon and then Add Add and then Home member. 5. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home. 6. Tap Next. The person you invite should receive an email with instructions. 7. Tap Next. Review the person’s access to your home. 8. Tap Send. 9. If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group. - To invite them, tap Add to Family. - To skip this step, tap No Thanks. The person you invite should receive an email with instructions. Tips: - You can have up to 6 members in a Google Family Group. - If the person you want to invite has already requested to join your home, instead of sending a new invitation, you need to accept that request.
