I cannot encourage you enough to avoid this purchase all together. Target is fully aware that you will not be able to use these gift cards and will put the blame on anyone but themselves. Goggle will not accept or honor the cards because there are no funds on them. Target will give you a canned customer service response that they successfully loaded the cards, and it is not their problem. Once you reach out to Blackhawk that processes the cards, they will also say it is not their problem and to talk to Google. Google will point you back to Target, who will not accept any responsibility but will happily keep your money. Your only recourse is to file a chargeback with your credit card company and provide them proof of Target’s shenanigans. Just stay away from this hassle!

Beware buying an electronic gift card from the website. I tried adding it to my google play account and it said that it ‘needed more information’ via a support inquiry which came back saying that the gift card wasn’t valid. I even waited a few hours after receiving it and tried it a few times, all same issue. I don’t even know how to get my money back from Target!

Still unable to use this $50 gift card nor another for $10. Continuously requests more info or validation from purchase, vague and delayed replies from Google play. Still cannot access the $60 gp balance, also non refundable by target. Sent yet another email with more evidence of purchase and confirmation, still waiting. This is from 10/2024!!

Required to give 1 star but got nothing for this purchase. Bought 2 as gifts for a new Chromebook. Waste of $. Google won't accept them and continues to send a from letter back (after first requesting proof of purchase, codes, website screenshots, etc. -- just look at their web form). Terrible waste of time, bc even w providing, it's a system w no recourse (submit an email w legit info/get a canned response 'something' isn't right), so be advised you *will be throwing $ away*. Somehow Amazon cards work is seamlessly. Google's intent is to rob you. (Fyi: Also returning the Chromebook that was part of the gift due to this hassle.)
