After 1 year and 7 months all but one of my Enduro batteries have gone bad

Very disappointed in these batteries. Especially for the price I would love to see at least 4 years of life out of them. I am not even a particularly hard filmer or abusive to these batteries and since they have gone out of warranty I have had all but 1 out of the 4 or 5 go bad. Some being from when I ordered the camera and others being from when I got a dual battery charger.
Goodish

I picked up 4 of these they get good battery life. I try to keep recordings under 30 mins & all LCD screens off to keep camera temps down on my hero black 11. That being said I filmed about 20 videos & all 4 batteries are swollen I only used the provided charger and plugged into my laptop to avoid damage. I see the volta is an external battery which is a good idea. I have some questions though.
It works!

Bought 2 of the newer batteries for the gopro 10 and 1 of them no longer works. I've tried keeping it charged for a long time and the gopro doesn't come on at all.

So, this is my second foc. Replacement (the GoPro subscription is definitely worth the money) The GoPro system and result quality is superb, but its robustness leaves a little to be desired especially for an action camera. My first hero 9 had to go back because it would randomly corrupt the memory card and the second one stopped working with the media mod probably, and I am only guessing, because you have to take it off if you want to download the videos using a cable. I know you can upload to the cloud but that takes an Internet connection and sometimes there isn't one. I have also just bought the bigger capacity batteries so hopefully the well known overheat and cold issues will improve. I haven't used them a lot yet but so far so good. Maybe I am not as gentle with my equipment as may be I should be but that's why I bought the GoPro in the first place
Better life, still too hot

Much better than the standard battery but the battery and Hero 10 still get too hot. I've turned off additional functions and reduced the video capture quality.

Todd, Thanks for reaching out. One thing to consider is that when charging Enduro batteries in the charger or in the camera, is that when they reach full charge please remove them. This helps especially if the in-camera battery if the camera is not going to be used for an extended period, such as a few days. Also, when not using the camera, turn off Wifi in the camera settings. This also helps preserve the battery. -Team GoPro

Why cold and not for overheating?

I would prefer a battery that doesn’t over heat in summer conditions than one designed for cold weather temps.

David, Thanks for reaching out. No video camera on the market is as unobtrusive due to its small size and yet provides such amazing visual acuity. This is the result of a new processor. The counter to that power is it takes a lot of battery life. It helps if the camera itself is updated. https://youtu.be/vVC7YOY5axw This video can be very informative for finding the right settings and optimum performance. https://youtu.be/wDXV1lW5rSE For overheating, this article offers some insightful tips. https://community.gopro.com/s/article/HERO10-Black-Camera-Is-Too-Hot?language=en_US This YouTube tutorial also offers insight https://youtu.be/sWRyYOcTr9U For even more battery life, there’s VOLTA, an external source of power that offers up to 3X battery life. https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/volta/APHGM-001-master.html Here’s a tutorial on how to get more life out of your battery. https://youtu.be/w3MOHpD3OzA -Team GoPro

The fact that these run longer in all climates, especially cold, are what prompted me to buy them. Now I’m ready for filming winter hunts.

I use it for salt water kayak fishing and use a power pack to keep them running, leaving on for hindsight use but will not charge when in hindsight function because it senses that cam is on and it will not charge if cam is on. Also filmimg in higher resoulutions and fps for a short time ,it overheats and shuts down. have to wait till it cools off before can restart and not easy to do out on the water. For the price we pay,I am not happy with it's performance.

Israel, Thanks for reaching out. GoPro cameras are designed to go where you, but keeping them in power in some conditions is trying. Here's a great video on charging the GoPro, some with outside devices. https://youtu.be/MAvUDI_4wPQ Hope this helps, -Team GoPro
