Q: Does this mattress need to be on a certain side for infants, or can the infant sleep on either side?

submitted byKristi - 2 years agoA: We said goodbye to her bassinet (that mattress was plastic/ puffy/ changing table material) & she was 2 months old! Always had a hard time of getting comfy on her bassinet & from switching to that-- to this product.. she's been sleeping 7pm-6/7am because of how comfy this is. If you know safe sleep then this mattress is worth it.

A: There are three layers of mattress cover over the foam core, but you will also want waterproof mattress covers to go over it.

Q: Can the foam be cut down to fit a custom sized crib that is an antique?

A: The foam core looks as though it could be cut down with an exacto knife once it's expanded. You will probably want to make custom mattress covers for the new size, though, as you won't want to use the foam alone without a cover.

Q: I've let the mattress set for the recommended time, I just took the 3 layers of protection off that I didn't realize but the one side is still flat while the rest is I suppose good. Is there anything I can do? I'm not sure how to fluff a mattress

A: I have used both versions of the mattress. They appear to be the same with the same features and are the same price, except you can use your red card discount on the Deluxe version!

This is the best quality crib mattress in my opinion that Target sells. It is chemical free and even though it comes in a box it plumps up in 24 -36 hours. Very comfortable without being to soft for safe baby sleeping.

Order two since I have twins. When arrived everything was delivered intact. When opened one of the mattress it inflated super fast and got its shape right away. When opened the second one it didn’t get the shape as the first one. The second mattress was not shaped like the first one and it looked smaller and thinner. When touching the mattress the first one felt nice and firm. The second however was flimsy and had a little stain on the mattress cover. Honestly I feel like the second mattress was used but Who knows. If they had the same consistency I would have given them a five star because I really liked the first mattress.

When I tell you that my daughter has never fallen asleep in her own bed and only slept through the night a handful of times, I'm not joking. Two years....27 months....27 long continuous months of non indepedent sleep. It's been brutal. But the night we got this mattess she has done just that, and every night since. She's also slept in her own bed through the night each and every night since getting it. I don't know what kind of black magic this mattress has in it, but keep it coming!! She's current napping on this mattess, in her own bed, as I type. I'd pay 10x what it cost. 10/10 would recommend.

I have 2 of these mattresses. I’ve had one for 5 years and the other for over 3 years. Both have held up very well. They’re comfy and easy to wash the covers. Definitely recommend.

Beware: this mattress isn’t truly fiberglass free. They can only claim that because the fiberglass is under the additional zipper cover. Unfortunately found out the hard was and had to throw away everything in my son’s room.

While this mattress feels nice, I could not get past this chemical smell. The smell is so strong I even smell it on my baby and her pajamas when she wakes up. I have to get her a new mattress because one month in the smell has not let up and it's concerning to me despite the green-guard certifications this has.

This mattress is terrible! It completely bowed in the middle, it’s absolutely not safe for babies. I tried to then use it in my toddler’s bed and he woke up complaining that it “hurt him” because despite it not being able to hold a shape, it’s also too stiff. It’s a total mess of a product.

I love this mattress! It's the best baby mattress I have ever seen. I initially bought this mattress to put in a crib for my first baby. I wanted something inexpensive, very comfortable, and not covered in plastic or vinyl. Most importantly, it's the perfect combination of comfort and firmness for a baby. The mattress is made of a single block of foam. Because it's only water-resistant, I used a waterproof mattress cover on it. I am highly recommended to all parents.
