[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (The spirits) I am not a fan of straight tequila - at least that's what I thought before I met this Plata by Gran Centenario. Delicate, almost fruity smell and taste. An enjoyable experience on the palate and throat that does not need my normal cola chaser. If I felt like a mixer I'd only flavor this with simple, delicate fruits or herbs - it deserves to shine through, not be overpowered. (The bottle) I love this bottle design!!! I'm going to use it as a vase once empty. (The cork) I might have gotten a fluke, but my cork split in two when I tried to open the bottle. I had to grab my wine bottle opener to pull out the bottom half of the cork. I'd noticed a few tiny floaters in the bottle before opening it and when I inspected the cork it definitely seemed extra spongy where it'd been seated within the bottle. No big deal. I reclosed the bottle for storage by wrapping the cork in Saran wrap. I'll be buying a silicone wine stopper to seal up the bottle for longer term storage. Again, could have just been the one I grabbed, but maybe keep a corkscrew + spare cork on hand just in case. I received this product free in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I'm glad I did, this was a great experience!

You know that first sip whole body quiver you get sometimes from alcoholic beverages? This DOES NOT have that! It’s so smooth, and honestly the smell of the cork lid was delectable! It does well on its own during a round of shots, or when paired in a margarita/paloma. Ive noticed I prefer ‘Silver’ Tequilas, as I find them to be smoother; not really a fan of the aged or woody taste. This tequila did an excellent job all-around and will certainly be in my rotation at the next celebration. Definitely recommend you give Gran Centenario Plata a try.

This bottle is not one I’d reach toward for a blind buy, but I’m so glad I bought it and tried it regardless. The flavor is similar to my favorite brand of tequila, Patron. It’s perfect for shots or margaritas. Will buy it again when I’m done with the bottle, I just wish the bottle was a little more… young..
