HABA Basic Building Blocks 60 Piece Large Starter Set (Made in Germany)

My 2-yr old granddaughter like to play with the block by stacking up tall. She also loves to pretend building a town, moving in and out of one place to another with her toy car by using a block as a door that opens and closes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my three year old loves these blocks. we bought two sets (cause there are never enough blocks!) and he’s loved building them tall and knocking them down. the pieces are big enough to build a reasonably sized structure but not so big that they hurt when then come down.

It is made from quality material that has held up well over countless hours of play building racetracks, castles, tunnels and more! I love that these blocks provide open ended play for our entire family! Our kids are two, four, and six, and these blocks have been well loved by everyone in our home, including the adults!

This has allowed them to be more critical thinkers as well when constructing their new and latest designs. The blocks can build assembled and can be colored or painted as well.

My toddler plays with these for hours on end, and we have fun joining him too. I love all the shapes, it allows you to build so many different things. Really allows him to be creative without any screens. A great gift for a birthday party!

Amazing for the imagination and plenty of blocks for loads of fun or even for my niece and daughter to share when they play together. A little heavier than I expected which I guess is normal considering they are solid wood.

They use their other toys to play with this as well after building something they will smash into it with a car then rebuild something else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These blocks are super. They are heavy, so our towers don't fall down for days. I built one that was 5 feet high, just to see how long it would stand in the playroom, and after five days I knocked it down myself. The edges are clean and not sharp. The blocks are perfectly smooth. We also bought some Haba fantasy blocks, which we use for accent pieces on our towers. My son, who is 4, LOVES these blocks. My baby girl, 8 months old, loves to knock the blocks together to make noise. Although my son is unable to build a complex tower by himself, we will build with him, and he loves it just the same. We build pirate ships, "chicken towers", "goat schools", islands, corrals, rockets, doorbells, and the list goes on. The things we construct actually replace so many of his plastic toys, we are about to get rid of a ton of them. We don't need the plastic zoo anymore, we can build one. We don't need the plastic dinosaur cave anymore, either. There are a few toys that are great with the blocks, though. My son's dump truck, which is big enough to carry these blocks, his garbage truck, which has a hatch back and can carry these blocks, and a Bilibo (look it up) that can act as everything else thinkable. If you like a stream-lined playroom without a bunch of obnoxious junk in it, these blocks are a great start. There are small Haba block sets and marble runs that go along with this set, and I think I am more excited about getting some of those than my kids are! You can find all kinds of long lasting, imagination enhancing, classic toys there. Five stars!!

The wood blocks are smooth and sturdy and safe for creative play. I purchased them for the 1-year old’s birthday gift and the 3-year old immediately tried to claim them as her own! My son-in-law loves them too! It truly is a gift for all ages. Many variations of creative building are possible. I see these blocks as a long lasting activity for my family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High quality blocks, can be passed to the next generation. I like that they are made of plain, smooth wood, no colors. I previously purchased colorful plastic magnetic blocks from somewhere else, thinking that my granddaughter needed the magnets to be successful. Then I tried the Haba wood small starter set for her at 17 months. She has been building different types of towers and is quite engaged. I will keep the small set at my house and purchased this larger set for her upcoming year 2 birthday to have at her home.
