Q: I've been using this product for years but when I ordered it recently it came with a cancer p65 warning sticker of the top of the box. Can you tell me what ingredient necessitated this warning?

A: Hello! Not all HLT products have a Prop 65 warning sticker. Only those requiring the sticker. Some of the products have trolamine which is a pH adjuster and this ingredient has a well known impurity (DEA) that is listed on California Prop 65. Our products are safe and the DEA is controlled by the manufacturer’s of the trolamine but there is still a trace amount requiring us to put the warning label. -Hada Labo Tokyo Team

When I use it I can feel it tighten my skin as it dries, like a mini facelift. It doesn't dry the skin, but I didn't particularly notice a hydrating effect either. There's no scent so if you like fragrance-free serums, this is the one for you. The serum is clear and more of a liquid than gel texture. It comes in a pump bottle that says to use a pea sized amount, but I found that hard to measure since it was a liquid. Overall it's a decent product. It didn't have a 'wow' factor for me though.

However, this is a very lightweight product and absorbs in the skin readily. It also has no fragrance and can be used by people with sensitive skin. It's chock full of awesome ingredients like collagen and hyaluronic acid. It's quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

I was nervous to start using this product because my skin is sensitive. I’ve been using it since I got it in early September and I have to say I love how it feels and I have not had a reaction or irritation to this product. It has proven to be very hydrating and gentle for my sensitive mid thirties skin that is prone to dryness and fine lines. I have to say that my fine lines have improved and just my overall complexion looks glassy and smoother! I recommend this product 100%!

However, I wouldn’t consider switching brands for this. I feel that CosRX does a much better job with hydration.
