Q: Can I use the unit just as a fan (in fan mode only) and not use the hose?
A: Hello - we're glad to tell you more about the fan mode for this portable air conditioner! The air conditioning process is, in simple terms, moving warm humid air outside, so the exhaust hoses are designed primarily to move heat and humidity from a room to the outside. However, Fan Mode recirculates air throughout the room without cooling/warming the air and the exhaust hose isn't used for this process. Therefore, you can use the unit as a fan without the need to connect the hose to a window. Please keep in mind that, if you ever need to use any of the other modes, the hose is necessary, and it has to be installed. Not installing the exhaust hose when using any of the other functions will cause damage to your air conditioner. We hope this was informative. Have a great one. - Pablo@Haier

Q: I set the thermostate to 61 but the units auto-adjust to 80 or above. Is this normal?
A: Hi there, we're sorry to hear your unit auto-adjusts to 80 degrees or higher than your set temperature; we'd be glad to help you. If your unit isn't cooling effectively, this can be due to restricted airflow, a dirty air filter, improper installation, or the room temperature being extremely hot/humid. Be sure nothing is blocking the airflow, clean the air filter if needed, check the exhaust hose for proper installation, and be sure the doors and windows are closed to prevent cold air from escaping. Service may be necessary if these suggestions do not help and the temperature is still stuck above 80 degrees. You can schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or online here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm. We hope this helps! We're always here if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day. -Shayla@Haier

Q: I just set it up but I've had it turned on for a half hour and nothing is happening . no fan no ac nothing
A: Hi there, and thanks for contacting us. We hate to hear your air conditioner isn’t yet operating – we know this must be worrying, especially as the unit is brand new. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and we want to assist. If the air conditioner doesn’t appear to have power at all, you may want to try pressing and releasing the Reset button on the power supply cord or checking the fuse or circuit breaker to ensure power is reaching the unit. If the model does seem to have power but isn’t actually cooling, it can take a bit of time to cool the room when you first turn on the unit. Checking that nothing is restricting the airflow around the unit may also help. If it might be useful, additional troubleshooting tips are available on page 15 of the manual; if you’d like to view the manual online, you can do so by going to our Haier Appliances website, looking up the model number and going to the product page. We hope this information is helpful, but if necessary information on the limited warranty is also available in the manual, on page 16. If you have any other questions or concerns, we’re happy to offer assistance any time, here or over social media. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A: Hi there, thank you for taking the time to reach out with this question. Q: my window opening os only14 inches can I cut the framing to this size and it will still work witn the exhaust?
A: Hello there, thank you for taking the time to reach out with this question. The minimum width of the window required for this unit is 20 inches.
