Hamilton Beach Big Food Steamer - Black: 800W Rice & Vegetable Steamer, Automatic Keep Warm, Dishwasher-Safe Parts

I bought this just two or three years ago to replace the steamer I'd had for a decade. This one leaked everywhere. No matter what I did, or what configuration in which I used the baskets, water was everywhere. I hobbled it along out of stubbornness, but eventually gave up and decided to replace it since too much water infiltrated the electronics. Additionally, the plastic covering the buttons busted and the light stopped working after a fairly short time of regular, 1- or 2-times per week use.

Have to put paper towels under unit, due to leaks. Gets all over the cabinet.

It has 2 steamer bowls do to multiple items at once. You can also remove the bottom to make it one tall steamer for Corn on the Cob, which I did! It also comes with a dish for making Rice or other smaller items. My rice turned out fluffy and grand! Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer also has the ability to steam eggs, vegetables, chicken, hot dogs, seafood and more. Plus it's so simple to use - fill the reservoir to the MAX line, place the drip tray over the reservoir, place the Steam Bowl(s) over the drip tray, press the ON/OFF button to initiate steaming cycle, set the desired steam/cooking time and off it goes! The Hamilton Beach 5.5 Quart Digital Steamer will switch to WARM mode when done steaming. Your food is now ready to consume and believe me when I say, you are going to want to consume it! This has everything you need in a steamer and more. 2-tiered (large) steamer containers A Rice bowl Timer Delay start Automatically goes to warm after cooking Automatically shuts off after an hour A booklet that is easy to follow, very informative, and includes cooking times for several dishes And my favorite: A window to see how much water is left and a small drawer on the side to add more water if needed during cooking. No more guesswork! And you don't have to take the whole thing apart to add water. It is very easy to clean because everything comes apart. Even the bottoms of the steamer containers come apart for easier access and cleaning. The reason I like the idea of the bottoms coming apart is when I want to cook taller foods. Take the bottom out of the top container, and wahla, you have a very large capacity for cooking. Chicken, broccoli, fish, and rice are just a few items I've made. I was able to set it and forget it which saved me time. The chicken was moist, broccoli cooked to perfection as well as the fish and rice. I plan on making hard boiled eggs next. I've heard they are easier to peel when steamed! I haven't found any negatives, so I do recommend this steamer.

Love the ability to steam 2 different things at once. We used it last night with fish and vegetables. They came out perfectly. I highly recommend this product as its a time saver and it prevented me from having to turn on my stove.
