Q: does this unit have a cooling fan? if so, is it considered to be quiet?

A: Thank you for your question. The appliance will not feature a fan. Induction cooking works through a magnetic field between the induction coils beneath the glass top and the ferrous (iron-containing) material in the cookware. Heat from induction is only produced in the pan itself, not in the glass top.

Cooktop did not work with my 8" induction compatible fry pan. I tested the pan with the included magnetic test strip and confirmed the induction plate on the underside was 4-10". The cooktop displayed a "---" error when I placed the pan on it and would subsequently turn off. The cooktop has worked just fine with all my other induction compatible cookware, but I was bummed that my 8" pan did not work for some reason.

Good for hotpot. I love to use it for hotpot . Easy to clean up. The price is reasonable. This brand is trustworthy. The wire is a little bit too short for hotpot. It needs the wire extension.

We bought this to replace a gas stovetop while our gas line is down for repairs indefinitely. Two weeks of daily use and we've put this through its paces from boiling water to searing meat to frying eggs. It's come through every single time. Great product for the price. If you buy this, just be careful with your heat settings; you may need to set the temp or power setting lower than you're used to.
Do not buy it not worth it.

Do not waste ur money this burner took 30 min to boil a small pot of water of about 1qt took it tight back for a refund.

Having owned two NuWave Pic induction cooktops, I was sold on induction cooking but wanted to try another brand. I was disappointed with this product in three ways, in order of importance. 1. It is extremely powerful, and the lowest setting was not even low enough to simmer rice (it boiled more vigorously than rice should). That was with power at 1 (out of 10), and the setting at 175 degrees (which is below boiling point and as low as the product will go). 2. It makes a terrible buzzing noise on all cookware that I used. Like a terrible metal insect is flying in your ear. It was really a bad noise. I'm not talking about the fan, I'm talking about this odd inexplicable high-pitched metallic buzzing that was unrelated to which pan I was using. 3. It can only adjust in 25 degree increments, as opposed to the NuWave and probably some other burners that can be adjusted in 10 degree increments. This can be a problem for fine tuning your cooking. The only positive things I can say about this device are 1) that it is extremely powerful, so if you want to bring something to a boil in two seconds, you've got your appliance. Faster than anything I've every used, gas or electric; and 2) That it is fairly straightforward and easy to operate.

this is high quality item--very good information included- I boil full tea kettle for coffee or tea in cpl minutes--I cooking if oyou havent used magnetic induction before its worth the learning curve but all kind s of info and temperatures that work best for each thing sauteeing/frying / fast cook /sear-- etc- the nicest thing about this besides speed boil- is if you are cooking vegetables you can reduce the heat just before they are done the way you like them IE crispy med floppy--and put it on very low temp that instantly changes but barely continues cooking .Its also nice to be able to quick wipe with glass cleaner and towel and have spotless clean appliance in seconds.

This seems to work seamlessly with appropriate cookware. It really does heat contents incredibly fast. The instructions for use are not very clear nor thorough, and I could not tell any significant difference in power level during use. I have not tried the temp. setting when cooking yet. I am pleased with it for my specific need.
