Was happy to find a pod free single serve coffee maker, but this one unfortunately had to be returned. I was extremely alarmed by the overpowering plastic smell while brewing coffee. Even after cleaning it and several uses, the smell never really went away. I was even more concerned that the tank is non removable molded plastic. No where on the box, manual, or machine does it state that this machine or components are BPA free. So in a nutshell, you are drinking heated up plastic infused water! The only way to clean the machine is to use a damp cloth, as it is all one piece (except the grounds basket and removable filter under that). This made me worry that over time if you try to deep clean it the electrical components may be affected. I was also under the assumption that this would fill my standard size travel mug, but fell short. The tank does hold the 14oz it claims to, but a standard travel mug is 16oz. Overall this product seems unsafe, and I will be sticking with my french press.

The coffee maker is described as using "pods" also. If you check in details it says it doesn't use pods and it is also written on the box. I was disappointed.

I like the size, color, and functionality of having two levels for small and large cups. I love that I don’t have to close a coffee pod with the Keurig we had. I will say it is rather annoying (to my husband) that it takes four minutes (which doesn’t seem like a long time but when you just wake up and compared to a Keurig it is) for it to brew a cup of coffee. I like Hamilton Beach products and I liked that it was half of the price of other brands but I guess you get what you pay for.

This coffee maker is a great idea. I use pour-over. This makes a good tasting cup of coffee without the hassle of using a filter for every cup. The problem is the spatter. I uploaded a photo. This is not a small cup in the photo. Even with medium-tall cups, the spatter is on the back of the maker as well as the counter-top. The benefit of not cleaning pour-over cones is much outweighed by the need to clean up the spatter after each cup of coffee using this scoop maker. If they could solve that problem, I'd buy it again. I am returning this one.

Pretty little coffee maker, however it does splash a lot. I mean, splashes on the coffee maker and beside it as well. I will probably have to put a riser underneath my mug to make it sit a little higher to avoid splash, but it is a nice coffee maker, makes hot coffee and convenient size also fits my kitchen nicely. Not a dealbreaker.

This coffee maker does not take pods which I like and prefer. I would suggest when filling the scoop basket to make sure you are below the max line as it will spill over. You are able to make a small or large size cup. I like that the large fills a tumbler.

Water marks are white -not easily seen have to measure h2o in cup a draw back or runs all over! Needs better marks! Flap holds cup close to top no splashing on counter

One of the things that I like the most is the coffee maker is Eco-friendly. It is very easy to use it that t takes less than a minute to set it up. Does not use pods or paper filters which it makes easier to use. The coffee machine has two sizes if you are home you can use your regular cup, and if you’re going out you can use your travel mug. The size of the coffee maker it’s perfect and doesn’t take a lot of space. It is light and the one I have is white which it looks like so fancy. I will recommend to everyone . Thank you Hamilton Beach I’m in love with my new coffee maker.

But the spattering annoys my husband (who hates any cleanup!) I like the tip-down shelf for smaller cups. I use this coffee maker daily now. It's sleek and takes very little counter space.

So, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this maker. SURPRISE - it makes a great cup of joe! Likes: - Small footprint - Fold down shelf for coffee mug - Easy to clean basket - Can use filters for even easier cleaning - Water gets really hot Dislikes: - Coffee splashes when filling mug. For the money, this little guy is hard to beat.
