Book Synopsis
Django Unchained meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer in Harriet Tubman: Demon Slayer, a supernatural comic series based on the true life of the freedom fighter herself that is flavored with genre liberties in the spirit of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. When slave owners can't stop the formidable warrior Harriet Tubman, they call on the help of Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, and Demons to stop her. Harriet Tubman must lead a family of slaves to freedom while battling an army of darkness.About the Author
Born and raised in the exotic town of Frenchtown, New Jersey, David Crownson grew up with a passion for storytelling which started with comics and film. This has served him as an actor and writer. He is the writer/creator of Harriet Tubman: Demon Slayer, Nightmare In Newark, avid can be seen on the YouTube series Bubbly Brown Sugar, and he is proudly followed by Barack Obama on Twitter. Courtland is working as a freelance concept + character designer, as well as being a pre-production & motion graphic artist. Courtland Ellis is known for No Sanctuary (2013), Atomic Robo: Last Stop (2013) and Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight (2022). Having graduated with a Master's degree in visual art at La Sorbonne, Sylvain Repos has always been attracted by comics. His main references are Katsuhiro Otomo and Moebius, but also more contemporary artists like Rick Remender and Brian K. Vaughan. It is through works like Akira, Blade Runner, or Mad Max that he finds his inspiration. With Yojimbot (Dargaud), his first graphic novel, Sylvain Repos offers readers a thrilling post-apocalyptic tale where robots reign supreme. Sherronda J. Brown contributed as the editor of the series, a Southern-grown essayist and storyteller with a focus on media analysis and cultural critique, and Editor-in-Chief of Wear Your Voice Magazine.
