Q: Scent Free means no fragrance? I ask because other products with Arm and Hammer say “light scent”

A: Hi qsusan, Thank you for your inquiry, Our Hefty Ultra Strong Tall Kitchen Drawstring Trash Bags, have no added scent to them, to maintain odor-free processing, our manufacturing facility routinely checks finished products. However, the product sometimes absorbs odors before it reaches you. The source of this problem can be difficult to identify, but under certain conditions, paper/plastic products can absorb odor from a warehouse or other surroundings during storage. For this reason, they should not be stored with perfumed items such as dryer sheets, laundry detergents, etc. Hope this helps!

Not sure if we just got a bad box but one of the drawstrings in each bag we’ve used from this box has been pulled right out using barely any force. A bit annoying but we’ve used other bag types from hefty and they’ve worked fine. Other than the drawstrings the bag itself holds up against tearing.

The garbage bags were not the size of a 13 gallon bag, they were small and made for a bathroom garbage can. Could have been a manufacturing error resulting in them being that size.

These are terrible and we can't wait to use them up and switch to a better brand. They don't fit a normal bin, they are constantly slipping down. I have to secure the corner with a twist tie to keep them in place. Do not buy!

These are not tall trash bags! They are in the shape of a square and will not work for a tall 13 gallon trash can. I had already thrown the box away so I couldn’t return.

In a community where everyone's trash is visible on certain days, I got a little weird about everyone SEEING my trash through thin, white, bags. I've used white bags my whole life, so I'm not sure if they got thinner or if it was just me. Anyway, nobody can see what's in my trash bags now, and I like that. Are these thinner than they were? I have no idea, as this was my first time using them. The quality is good for my purpose. These definitely aren't for yard waste, etc. (THOSE Hefty bags are a different animal. We're not allowed to use those.) Never had any bag tears and have always been able to fully close them. I am due for a new box, since January, so they last for a decent amount of time. The thing I love about them? They are UNSCENTED!!! None of that extra, nauseating stink of lavender(ish) garbage.

Remember when Hefty brand meant something? Same as many other “quality” brands over the past several years. The ties don’t seal the bag when you tie them together, and that’s if you are lucky enough to have the ties not snap off altogether. Bags have gotten laughably small. Seriously, just get the off-brand ones and at least you pay less for crap, instead of paying a premium for crap. Better value.

These are the smallest garbage bags. I don’t know if I got a defective box but these are way too short to be 13 gallon / kitchen size despite the box saying they are that size. Maybe they are wide and short? But why?! They don’t hold much. Bigger than bathroom, smaller than kitchen.

My last 3-4 boxes the draw strings are not fastened under the bag fold. It makes them useless as you have to try to make four corners and tie the bag shut with the bag itself. Don't know what happened but the quality has really gone downhill. These are unusable without the drawstrings working. Been using these for years and have to find something else now.

Never thought i’d be reviewing a trash bag, but here we go. This brand/type of trash abd was my go to for 20 years! I don’t knoe what they’re doing, but avoid hefty at all cost! The bags rip under the slight stress, the draw string rips and you have to tie the too old school (which is difficult without tabs). Honestly… the dollar general bags are better than these. STAY AWAY. This brand did a major material/design change.
