Herr's Red Hot Potato Chips - 1 OZ Bag (Pack of 42)

I used to enjoy these chips in the 1990s but the recipe has changed since then. The chips have lost their heat and flavor. I want the old recipe restored.

Best chips if you like hot spicy snacks. Wish they were more available I. Grocery stores.

I have been a herrs red hot chip lover ever since i was in elementary school. they’re my favorite chip/snack overall and i can confidently say i’ve had at least one bag of hot chips monthly for the majority of my life. no exaggeration i believe i am probably the number one consumer of these specific chips! so here is my honest review. obviously i love these chips lol the seasoning blend they use is perfectly spicy and sweet and out of all of the hot chips on the market these days this one is by far something special. i don’t think i’ll ever not like them anymore unless they change the formula. i’ve been around since the original bag design XD my only issue (wouldn’t even call it that) is how difficult they are to find in certain regions and also how much the amount of seasoning varies from bag to bag. i do understand it may be a good idea to have different levels of spice for some people who may be more sensitive to spice but there should also be a way to tell how spicy each bag is so people who enjoy spice can get a redder bag and people who don’t can get a more lightly seasoned bag. maybe a clear window on the bag? i’m not sure but it’s really not that big a problem anyway clearly i still buy them haha but i would be happier with the product if there was some way to ensure i can pick the bag that’s spicy enough for me. p.s. i wasn’t paid to make this review but im open to being compensated in chips XD

These were my favorite chips for at least 30 years or more. They always had a nice hot savory taste with a hint of sweetness. But something has changed lately. Now they are sweet with a hint of hot savory flavor. Past few bags I had were just way too sweet and I couldn't finish them. Drastic change from my all time favorite chip, to something I couldn't finish. I really hope they bring the old recipe back. This is the only Herrs chip I've had an issue with. I still love all their other products.

Excellent flavor like always. A shame they don’t make more of the chips that you can fill up your 12 pack with so you get to have a better sample of more chips.

Have bought for over 30 years. Flavor is STILL excellent, however, seems to be more crumbs in bag than normal

i have loved these chips since i was a child. and now i live halfway across the country and order a box of these a few times a year because they're amazing.

Ate these for 35 years. No more. About 10 years ago they stopped being hot and now they changed the flavor of the hotness and it is not good.

I think this chips have gotten really salty over the years. It’s taking away from the actual nice flavor and is becoming less enjoyable. I think they need to tone down on whatever is making it salty

I have been eating these since elementary school and I'm 44 now.They are the only hot chips I like. I remember when they had ruffles.I was born and raised in Philly and now live in Maryland. I can never find them here, so I order them. My kids love them, my husband and Pop-Pop.

I am from the Caribbean. I have been eating these since a child can I say, I still love them. Red hot is a nice set a chips. Nothing compares for me.

These are the only potato chips I eat. I love spicy and the flavor with the spice is the best tasting chip available. Unfortunately there is no way to know how flavored and spicy the bag will be as the amount of seasoning in each bag VARIES TREMENDOUSLY. In fact I've never seen a more inconsistent potato chip. Some bags are insanely spiced (and delicious) and some bags barely have a sprinkle of seasoning and taste more bland than a salted bag of chips. I would love to know how to tell the difference in batches! (I was told theres a secret "#" put on each bag indicating the spiciness.) I would love to know the secret! Thanks!
