Don't know what expensive ingredient is being compensated for but even my hot food loving husband says it's very spicy now. I take a daily acid reducer. Prior to this I used this chile in a soup recipe along with enough other ingredients that the finished recipe wasn't hot at all. I could not eat it this time. Really disappointed. This chili isn't the only food product I've noticed this problem with. I'll find something else.

I have enjoyed Hormel Turkey Chili w/beans for years but it just tastes off lately. To my dismay, I found the recipe and changed & now there is over 2 times MORE fat & mechanically separated turkey in it. I was appalled to see exactly what mechanically separated turkey was!! YUCK!! On top of that, they tried to sneak it past their customers by making a VERY slight change to the label removing the 98% fat free text!! I will never buy this again unless Hormel gets this fixed!! Typical corporate greed!! Make a MUCH lower quality product & charge more for it!! Heartless, soulless corporations who care NOTHING about their customers will NOT be getting my business!!

I used the 98%fat free all the time. The replacement is a degradation of the old product. More oil. Gummy texture. I will not be buying this product. Such a disappointment. I feel deceived.

Chili sauce: Great. Beans: Great. Turkey: Great. I cheat by adding three tablespoons of barbeque sauce because I love barbeque flavor. I especially appreciate the larger chunks of ground turkey.

I searched everywhere for this Turkey Chilli as it disappeared from stores since Covid. I was so happy to find it again and bought several cans! Turkey ground meat has been replaced with fake meat!!!

Is this chili amazing? No. Is it good? Yes. I add extra chili powder/spices to my taste. It's full of protein and fiber and actually keeps me full all day. Sometimes I add a little sharp cheddar and eat it as a dip with tortilla chips; its really good that way

I am not in pressed with the hornet turkey chili with beans. The sauce tastes sweet and what's with the turkey meat. It looks like pellets. It use to have ground meat.

The old recipe had more protein, less calories per serving, less fat, and no soy listed. I don't buy this anymore. Isn't it wild that you can't even find a canned chili without soy now?

Used to love it, but they changed the recipe

No idea what they did. I was eating this chili for years and I loved it. Now, frankly, it sucks. It tastes like cheap school cafeteria chili now. Not to knock cheap food, because some cheap food I love. In fact, Hormel Turkey chili was always a relatively inexpensive healthy food that, to me, tasted great. Now, it sucks. Welcome to the new USA, where quality gets worse every day so corporate America scum can make more. Because millions and billions aren't enough. That's the last time I buy this garbage.

Recipe changed - tastes awful

I'm so upset about the change to my favorite chili. I would eat turkey chili with beans at least once a week for years. I was appalled when I opened a can purchased this month and the color, consistency, and taste and radically different than older cans purchased in Oct '22 (I stock piled and just ran out of that batch). The chili is now light orange instead of a deeper orange/red color, the consistency is gloopy like too much cornstarch was added, and the biggest offense is it taste nothin fluke it did before - it's sweet and bland and the cornstarch texture costs your mouth in an unpleasant way. I won't be purchasing again unless Hormel returns to the previous recipe.

I haven't eaten this Hormel Turkey chili with beans in awhile. The minute I opened the can I felt like it looked different and even how it poured into the kettle seemed differnt. After it was heated and I tasted it I felt like it wasn't what I remembered. Not awful just not as good as it used to be. Did you change the recipe?

Change in recipe has made it worse

My family and I have been a fan of this turkey chili for decades but I can no longer recommend this to anyone. Whatever changes were made to this product should be reversed because they were sadly not for the better. The product I knew and loved was chunky and added a great balance of flavors to any recipe. Now it has become a redder soupy and tomato?-forward bland mess and contains fewer pieces of meat and beans overall. I've tried some of the other Hormel chili products to see if this applies to them and sadly it does appear that way.

No Longer 98% or 99% Fat Free - Total Garbage!

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
Pat From Tampa - 2 years ago
For years, Hormel Turkey Chili without beans was 99% fat free. This version, with beans, was 98% fat free. That's why I was a fan. It didn't have the best flavor, more of a "unique" flavor, but it was one I got used to and would eat frequently. Recently, I noticed the label had changed. No longer did it say it was 98% fat free. Checking the label, I found it was now 7g of fat, including 2g of saturated fat per "serving" (1/2 can). Who eats only half a can of chili? That's about as much as in a regular can of beef chili, so ALL the benefits of eating turkey chili are GONE. After years of being a Hormel customer, I can honestly say NEVER AGAIN, unless they change the recipe back.

We have occasionally purchased the Hormel chili when we are craving a quick and satisfying snack. Unfortunately, our latest purchase resulted in mostly water, with a few chunks of meat and beans. This chili used to be chunky, great for serving alongside chips as a dip that could easily be scooped up. Now, it's a soupy mess. What happened? Is this the way we are now to be upcharged??? This is off-putting and appetite-destroying. Extremely disappointed.

We were not able to buy our favorite chili, Hormel Turkey Chili No Beans, because of a shortage in our area due to Covid. So we purchased this chili instead thinking it would taste like the product without beans. We were wrong. It hardly tasted like chili at all. More of a red sauce with Turkey & beans. It was awful! We will not buy another Hormel Chili until they start producing Turkey Chili without Beans! What a waste of money!!
