HOT TOOLS 24K Gold Extended Barrel Spring Curling Iron 1.25" with Clamp for Tousled Curls

It is very difficult to get my thick curly hair to do anything it doesn't want to but this curling iron did the trick! My hair held the curls no problem and it was easy with minimal damage to my hair!

Though incentivized, my opinion is entirely my own. For reference, I have long, dry, 3a natural curls. I received Hot Tools pro artist 1- 1/4” 24K gold extended barrel curling iron. I rarely heat style my hair but I have owned and used curling irons before. This iron is impressive looking, sleek gold color with a black handle and larger than I am accustomed in barrel length and width. It heated extremely fast, first you must flip on the on/off switch then there is a separate button to set your desired heat. The clasp of the iron worked beautifully. However, I sadly felt this did not hold a curl as well as other curling irons I have used. I even tried it side by side with an iron I already owned, using the same hair products and technique, tried using hairspray, yet continually the curls fell out on the Hot Tools sections. I do not know why this device seems to be incompatible with my hair as it is well rated online, but this has sadly been my experience- cute curls as pictured, but within an hour it is essentially flat-ironed straight! So bizarre! Two stars for aesthetics, quick warm time, and being user friendly, but I sadly cannot rate it higher than this owing to performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a frequent curling iron user but I like them for quick styling when I need to smooth frizz or fix wonky pieces. This one works really well! I found it fairly easy to use and did not burn myself a single time, which is a first for me. The tip stays cool and the barrel is the right size for soft curls. The stand does get in the way a bit because it moves back and forth while you’re using it. Overall I like this better than a very expensive iron I had before.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this curling iron. For so long I have thought my one inch curling iron was just a little to tight of a curl. I’m so pleased with the size of this iron. It’s very easy to use and I have so many hot tools products that I have had for years so I know they will last. I’m very happy with this iron. I can use it as a traditional curling iron or as a wand for a softer wave look. Perfect for what I need!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start off with the things I didn’t enjoy then move on to the pros. One of the things that I didn’t like was that it says that the cooling tip is longer so that you can hold it and help with the process, but there was absolutely no cool tip. It all got hot. I also felt like the clamp part was so short, they could’ve made it longer. And I’m also not a fan of the stands that move because most of the time they don’t stay open, it takes a while or if they do stay open you have to move it so it’s not in the way of the curling process. One of the things that I did enjoy about this curler is that it remembers the last temperature setting that was used. So if you are in a rush and forget to set it at your desired temp no worries it’s already there! I also really liked that it has a 2 hour automatic shut off, because I’m sure we’ve all been there when we walk out the door and don’t remember if we unplugged our curler or straightener.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this curling iron. I used to use hot tools when I was younger and haven't used them in a long time. I actually haven't used a curling iron in forever. But this curling iron is super easy to use and I didn't have to worry about burning myself ( I have MS, sometimes I have tremors, shaky hands drop stuff randomly, etc.🤦🏾‍♀️🙄) I say I didn't worry about burning myself because the iron isn't heavy at all. Also the front part of the iron is designed so that you have enough space for your fingers to maneuver and hold on without touching the hot barrel of the iron. This part is much longer than other irons I've used. The buttons on the iron aren't confusing or hard to press if you have problems like arthritis, ehlers danlos, yada yada. It heated quickly as well. I used this on my straightened natural hair. Then pin curled my hair that night. The curls lasted all day both times despite gross humidity (actually longer both I didn't feel well the next night and couldn't care less what happened to my hair). I took a picture but it's a blurry mess and now I look like a troll so... Sorry. Oh yeah I tried using the iron differently on a few section, spirals, waves, etc. I don't know if that makes sense or not but the iron did not disappoint at all.

It’s good quality and gets hot enough that my curls stay in for long periods of time but it doesn’t seem to damage my hair. Using it was a little tricky for me but that’s mostly because i have no idea what I’m doing so I gave myself a mild burn when trying to hold a curl in the back of my head. I’ll chalk that up to user error. Overall a great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I am a hijabi so I never really do my hair in terms of straightening it or curling it. I think this product is okay, but I just don’t really know how to use it. I would get curls but my curls would fall in minutes. I think I just need to practice a bit more. One issue I was having was when I was trying to hold the wand, I kept accidentally pressing the temperature button so it would get higher without me realizing until I heard the sound so just keep that in mind.
