Description

A new holiday enemies-to-lovers romance from USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn.

Every Kringle in Kringletown celebrated Christmas a lot.

But Cole Black on Whistler Lane, unfortunately, did not.

As his fellow citizens decorate their quaint town, brimming with carols and glad tidings, Cole wants nothing more than to hibernate the winter away. But his dreary plans are thwarted when his Christmas nemesis, Storee Taylor, moves in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Immediately, the new neighbor turns his life into a real nightmare before Christmas, especially when she decides to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest in honor of Cindy. And better yet, Storee is determined to win.

Over Cole's dead body, she will. With help from his friend Max, Cole decides to enter the competition as well, to beat Storee at her own game by pretending that this hometown grump's heart has grown three sizes this season and he's fallen for the girl next door. And unfortunately for Storee, she has to follow his lead to have a chance at the Christmas Kringle title.

But the competition isn't the only thing that heats up. Cole and Storee's fake relationship becomes very real, and before they know it, they're attempting to hide it from Aunt Cindy. Things get complicated, the competition gets tough, and all it takes is one single night for someone to steal it all...

For a Christmas story the language was awful. I bought this book for gifts and am embarrassed I gave it as a gift.

I thought it was great! And the Christmas references in the names were so thoughtful IMO. This was a naughty one though(candy canes?!) I really liked it, but you have to stay to the end in romance genre! don't give up!

The more I read the more I was upset I was still reading it. This book would have been 1/5th or even 1/10 the size it is, everything drags, the characters are ridiculous, there was no spice in the first 300 pages, and the spicy scenes were uncomfortable. There were even embarrassing publisher notes left in the book (see bottom paragraph in photo). It was just bad and I love hallmark movie type Christmas books and spicy romance. This failed its genres.

My book is missing 30 pages so that’s annoying. Planning on contacting Target to either replace/return this book to get a new version!

I have not finished it yet but I am enjoying every minute of reading it. It’s lots of fun with the twist on the Grinch story. Funny and enduring. Best Christmas book I’ve read this year.

So far the book is a good storyline - not done yet. But there are repeats of pages and it messes up the story/reading.

This is a Chistmas romance? The 2 male characters can not have even a short conversation without using the F word. Not the biggest problem, I definitely know people who talk like that. When the 2 main characters get together the author describes things in explicit detail and most of it is raunchy. I got tired of skipping pages, sometimes close to a chapter of pages of too much detail I returned the book before finishing. I wanted to read a Christmas love story.

I loveeee the plot but my copy and others from my local target had typos!!! We must have gotten a shipment of editors copies or however that works. There’s literally a production note in it. The typos aren’t too major and don’t take from the overall story but it’s still interesting nonetheless. I compared mine to copies at my local Barnes and Noble and they didn’t have the typos!

Hello - 6 months ago, Verified purchaser
It’s a good book, but for whatever reason my book has 14 blank pages within the first 88 pages. And to make it worse it skips whatever should be on the pages so you can’t even read the book. So if I want to know what’s going on I need to read it on the kindle…

5 Candy Canes for Storee & Cole!

5 Candy Canes for Meghan Quinn's hilarious, heartfelt new holiday romcom inspired by The Grinch! From the prologue to the epilogue, How My Neighbor Stole Christmas was absolute perfection! I really don't know how Meghan Quinn continues to surprise me with her romcoms, but this is one of the best. And I've read just about everything she's published. And I often say that *this* book may be one of her best yet, only for her to outdo herself with the next one! Well, I think Meghan has outdone herself... My heart broke for Cole, and how lonely he's been since his parents died. Storee has also been feeling lonely and isolated, and they really do bring each other back to life over the course of this book. It starts with a spark of healthy competition during the Kringle Christmas contest, and as they spend time fake dating (so the townspeople think they are getting along), they pick up the friendship that was cast aside a decade ago. I really liked how the worst night of Cole's life coincided with a night that Storee was completely humiliated. And then there is the reverse-fake-dating (I didn't even know that was a micro-trope!) where Storee and Cole begin to really fall in love. The spice level is high in How My Neighbor Stole Christmas... and I will never be able to look at a candy cane the same way again.
