Fast computer

I like this computer - much faster than my old 12 2/3 year-old HP computer. Minor complaints: I liked the old way of seeing if my computer was asleep - the blue light on the CPU tower changed to orange which was more visible from different locations and angles. Also, the old computer had a small light on the CPU tower which showed when the computer was busy doing something - the new one does not have any way of showing this.

noisy fan at times for no reason (no background running, minimal foreground), low humming and vibration all the time. Recessed power on/off button.

The HP ENVY TE01-3019 Desktop PC is a good quality work computer. This is NOT a gaming machine. If you want to get work done at a reasonable price without a pile of bloatware that you have to uninstall, this is your machine. I have purchased 2 of these machines in the last 3 years and both continue to work well for me.

Lacks Tech Description of Available Internal and External Ports

Probably a decent product, but doesn’t compare to the HP Pavillion I’ve owned for 11 years. No front lights other than Power, so can’t tell if internal storage is being accessed (like during image backup). Advertises internal PCIe expansion ports, but no way to find out what’s available on my unit. No tech info available on any of the individual front or back USB ports, or identified on the ports. Other than ads, there seems to be no tech info available for this unit on any of the HP web sites.

Good computer but no way to order a dvd writer. The front panel of the case doesn’t even have a knockout to put one in.

The transition from a laptop to a desktop computer has been a challenging experience. It is one that I knew would present a challenge. However, it was a change that I really felt was necessary to support my increased usage of my computer. There were many changes as I made this transition that I did not consider. You never think about all the devices like speakers, cameras and other accessories that you take for granted after many years of using a laptop.
My old computer was a better machine despite being close to 10 years old

Love how responsive the PC is. Very quiet and compact. No complaints with its functioning to date. One shortcoming - HP should offer larger capacity hard drive options. I elected to aftermarket expand this feature to 4 TB from 1 TB.

Good very quick machine. I do not use it for games, so I really can't comment on that. For my uses, surfing net, watching youtube videos and excel and word documents, the machine seems to perform well. The only negative at this point, is the stupid power on button and no drive indicator light. The switch is too small and hard to get pressed in with big fingers. The old style, a large button on top with a light indicating power on was a much better design. The lack of a light indicating that the drive is functioning and "Thinking" is most annoying when installing windows updates. It's impossible to know if the computer is advancing in the task or stuck just hanging there. Overall, I would say that I am pleased with the purchase.

two different front views (no dvd slot) no back or inside view - back has primitive usb ports. spec says has second m.2, but occupied by comms. does not say if has internal cables - one sata data for one drive, power for 2. should say at least 4 sata connectors on mb. told only one hd, but can add 2 x 2.5 ssd. hence max storage > 2 tb. spec confuses what can be configured as opposed to what supported. 1tb m.2 ssd with two 2.5 ssd drives goes like a rocket.
I love it when something lives up to my expectations !

The mini desktop works great so far. It would be nice if it had a bit more space inside to allow for two 3.5 HDD's and 2 PCIe expansion slots instead of one each. But I knew that when I bought it. I was able to install two 2TB SSD in the space where one HDD would fit. So far it's snappy and I'm getting the hang of Windows 11... gradually. I separately bought a 3.5" DVD external USB3 enclosure so I can access DVD's and BluRay disks via a USB port. Seems to work well so far also. The Nvidia 4060 is driving my three 27" monitors without issue. I'm not a gamer so I can't speak to response in that area. Love the 32GB of RAM and the quick startup from the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. All this coupled with the Intel i7 14 Gen CPU and the holiday sale price.. well I just couldn't pass it up !!
