Good hub

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very effective mini-hub for my 2023 13" Macbook Pro. Downsides are, as others have noted: ethernet cable is VERY difficult to remove from the ethernet port, and the Macbook doesn't close completely with the hub attached. Otherwise works well.

Duo Pro 7-in-2 USB-C Hub works with MBA M2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The HyperDrive Duo Pro 7-in-2 USB-C Hub works well with my MacBook Air M2 even though a dedicated plastic spacer (between the hub and MBA) is not yet available to fit the MBA M2. The hub has all the ports I need including an Ethernet port, and an HDMI port, and it allows the use of the MagSafe 3 charging port which many hubs do not.

Great but the Ethernet port is in serious need of improvement

I bought this because it is one of the few if not only directly attached hubs that will work with a case. The big issue for me is the Ethernet port. Detaching a cable is a struggle. I am going to contact support to see if they have any clues.

Great hub for PRE-2022 MacBook Pro

But doesn’t snugly fit the 2022 MBP, contrary to online and phone-support descriptions. (May be OK w 2022 Air—I haven’t checked.) when plugged in, it hangs suspended from the two USB-C plugs without touching the edge of the computer. Needs a new plastic shim to fit 2022 MBP securely; no word on whether/when that’s planned. So Hyper fixed the previous hub’s (also undisclosed) problem of interfering with the MagSafe plug, but created a new one. A firm with such excellent products needs better internal coordination and accurate product descriptions.

Good but one big disappointment

The hub is well built and solid. No problem there. My main disappointment is that the lid on my M1 2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch will not close when using the adapter bar. I do not have a case on the Mac. I wanted a hub that I could keep on and close the lid to travel. This hub doesn't do that with the adapter bar (it comes with two-MacBook M1 2020 and MacBook Pro 2021). If I use a case, the hub does well. But the main reason I purchased this hub was to eliminate the case and have the extra ports. If a modified adapter bar for my 2020 MacBook becomes available, that would be great!

Solid Hub

Last year, I purchased a USB-C hub for my M1 Macbook Pro. It did the job fairly well, but I wasn't satisfied with the build quality. The shell / casing was pretty flimsy, and it wasn't the most solid connection to the two USB-C ports on the side - more simply put, it drooped a bit. I don't walk around with my laptop a lot, but I was always a bit nervous about the connection. A couple of weeks ago, I saw an ad for the HyperDrive hub, and decided to give it a try. The first improvement is the casing. It's much more solidly built and I have more confidence in its durability. Second, the hub comes with two attachment bars, one for the MacBook Air/Pro 2016-2020, and another for the 2021 MacBook Pro. The attachment bar is magnetized, and is a snug fit to my M1. I may not need all the adaptor types, but they don't get in the way, and who knows if I'll need them in the future. As of now, I have zero regrets on purchasing what I'd call a confidence-building hub upgrade.
