"There are probably not enough synonyms for 'cute' to cover this survey of hypothetical smooches between animal parents and off-spring . . . The characters radiate unconditional love." --Publishers Weekly, Starred Review
"The imaginative possibilities alone make this one stand out from the glut of sickly sweet bedtime books. Sure to send readers off to a gentle goodnight . . . after a kiss, of course." --Kirkus Reviews "Lively rhythm, effective sound words, and an ecclectic collection of toddler-pleasing animals all combine to create a charming bedtime book." --School Library Journal "Using soft colors Walker renders the nighttime rituals inventively, across pages and around panels, making this gentle book a satisfying bedtime selection." --BooklistAbout The Author

This book was creepy and inappropriate for a small child. The wording is incredibly disturbing describing how animals kiss.
Very good, once we got used to the rhythms

This is one of our worn-out favorites from babyhood, and our 4yo still asks for it sometimes. When we first got this book, we both tripped over some of the rhythms the first several times through, in a way we hadn't with other rhyming books. The story and illustrations were very cute, so we pushed through and then something clicked. Now we read it easily and can't remember what parts used to be awkward.

I had never heard of this book but I received it at my baby shower and it has become our go-to bedtime story! It’s got great rhymes and so many fun animals. I definitely don’t agree that it’s “creepy”. The sloths are the recurring animals the book goes back to because they’re slowly kissing good night (still…slowly kissing goodnight, etc.). They’re sloths. They’re slow. If you’re making it creepy, that’s on you because you’re way overthinking it. It’s a children’s book.

The pictures were good, but the story was weird. Both my husband and I thought it was not a good book to read our child. We were expecting something cute, but instead we got something creepy.

This is a really cute and sweet book. I like that it has a lot of pages to read. Most baby books are around only 12 pages.

This is such a cute book. Great illustrations, funny, and great rhyme and rhythm. Initially, this book was a little too long for my newborn, but now at 9 months, she absolutely loves this. Why can I not find more of her books for sale?
