Insten Replacement for Joy-Con Analog Joystick Thumb Stick with Tools for Nintendo Switch

Came with all the parts need to remove the old and replace the new. Super easy to do!

I purchased two kits. No instructions were included in either kit but I easily found instructions to replace the thumb stick online. So far they work great. Hopefully they can stand up to the abuse of a 6 year-old.

It worked. Had to watch a video on YouTube , and while the insides of the controller didn’t look quite the same, it wasn’t hard to put two and two together and figure out what to do

I instructions included, the contacts look different then the original. Not very hard to install but also not easy either. Didn’t work, once I installed and turned switch on the joystick was stuck on down without physically being on down.

I purchased four kits. Replaced the joycon controllers and they wouldn’t calibrate properly. The ZIF connector on the joycon controller did not sit as well in the zif connector as the original joycon controllers I was replacing. They didn’t seat all the way in. Look at the pictures below. You can see copper on the Nintendo joycon ZIF wire, you don’t see too much copper on the Insten connector. A waste of $44

The product was exactly as pictured, perfect. A simple search on a web browser gets some very nice step by step instructions with many photos. Be prepared- there are 4 small screws on the outside, 3 smaller screws in the inside, and then 2 more very small ones inside the next layer. Be prepared with a container of some sort to catch/hold the screws. Give yourself 20-30 minutes depending how good you are with delicate electronics. Have a good pair of tweezers available, but otherwise it comes with all tools. The Phillips head is magnetic even, perfect for the tiny screws. After installing it worked perfectly right out of the gate, no calibration needed and it feels better than the other original joystick on the other one. I think the bad reviews are because people didn’t understand how to install and/or got too frustrated. It’s like playing the game operation

Try a different kit. There were no directions, not even a packing slip in the box and there were no replacement screws. It also took 3 weeks to get here.
