I just opened both parts of the valve and placed the 1 inch hose over the opening, with the hole plugs inside the hose. It blew up in less than a minute!!! No matter how we blow up the mattress, the plugs are difficult to put back in place. So be prepared to try to plug it a few times. The material is durable. The mattress is comfortable.
