This was like a super cute 90's romcom. I pictured a little bit of Never Been Kissed mixed with How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days mixed with Sleepless in Seattle. I really liked the unique approach of Anna having her kids pick her next dates! This was cute, funny, & relatable to how newly dating in your late 30's, divorced with two kids would probably go! But I loved how Anna took the time to really get to know herself independently once again, really put herself out there, stripping away the Mom mask a little bit to reclaim herself & got to meet some really great people along the way. I did like the book, but felt it start to get a little repetitive after a while & was just kinda ready to get to get to the end.
Loved it!

This is my second book by Sophie Cousens and I can confidently say she is one of my new favorite authors. I read The Good Part in January fell so head over heels in love with it that it’s still holding its #1 spot of everything I’ve read in 2024. This was yet another 5 star read and now I immediately need to read her entire backlist! Here are some of the things I loved about this one: - Setting: Bath was such a great setting. I was just there last year during the Jane Austen festival (though not as an attendee, just coincidentally) and it was extra fun to be able to picture everything so clearly. - Writing: I just love her writing style and how it can manage to be SO funny and so poignant at the same time. The characters and situations are specific yet somehow so relatable and accessible. - Enemies to lovers: If you’ve been around here a minute, you know this is my favorite romance trope, and I loved the fresh way it was approached here (and like, I really did hate him for a while yet the turnaround was v. successful!) Overall, I loved it so much and couldn't recommend more.
Super fun read!

I read one of Sophie Cousens other books and wasn't a fan, so I was reluctant to try this one, but I loved it! It was so well written and I lived for the banter between Anna and Will. The premise of having her kids pick her dates was hilarious and found myself laughing out loud. Also, the scene when they are in two separate hotel rooms, but flirting?! Best flirting scene ever! I read this in one day because I couldn't put it down. Definitely a must read and a favorite for me for 2024. Now off to read her backlist! I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
