The 1-star reviews are a coordinated effort to lower the rating and dissuade people from buying it. Don’t be fooled - it’s a great book, and helps preteens and teens learn about their developing bodies.

I get that it's an uncomfortable subject for a lot of parents, but I felt like this book covers things well and the book came in great condition (which I was a bit worried about with all the bad reviews). Maybe read it from a library first if you're worried that the content isn't right for you or your family, but it's nothing that isn't covered in comprehensive health classes.

Bodies change & it’s perfectly normal. It’s normal for preteeens in the age range of this book to be curious about their bodies and what’s happening. Some parents aren’t comfortable giving full details so a book can be helpful. This book is especially important for young people who have parents that refuse to tell them anything, this is important to self educate to prevent abuse. To know that those areas of your body are private. This isn’t for your 5 year old

This book is a great tool to help protect children against abuse. It’s highly recommended by many child psychologists and experts. It’s been a fantastic tool in our women’s snd children’s center where we help victims of abuse become empowered and heal.

(Dont get me wrong I was a bit taken back by the book, but then I realized....) Got this book for my 10 year old 14 years ago when she had started menstration early. She is now 22 and still a virgin. As parents if you dont educate your children early on and be blunt and honest they will find other ways "behind" your back to "explore" and figure things out amongst their friends. You dont want to go that route stop sugar coating, it is what it is!

So many kids have low self esteem because they simply don’t understand their bodies. Books like these can help save preteens from the destructive messages from the media about how bodies are supposed to look, and how people are supposed to act, supposed to feel. For anyone saying it’s inappropriate because of the educational images, I have one question. Does your child have access to the internet? Preteens are curious about these topics and will go looking for answers from sources that aren’t made for kids. Be smart. Educate them.
