A: You can assemble it without. It is more so decorative than structural.

Q: Is this shelf easily collapsible/ taken apart and then set back up?

A: Hello Jaelynn, thank you for your question! This piece has multiple parts but should be fairly easy to disassemble. The legs/sides are connected by dowels and won't be able to disassemble once put in place, the rest of this bookshelf is held together with screws. Hope this information helps!

Q: Is this solid wood or mdf? The description says solid wood/pine but both another question and some reviews say MDF, very confusing and dare I say deceptive for someone looking for a wood product.

Q: what is required in assembling this book shelf? Do i have to do any drilling, sawing, etc. with metal tools? Do i have to anchor this shelf to the wall for stability? Are the shelves adjustable?

A: Hello mww, thank you for your question! This bookshelf does require full assembly but the only tools that are needed is a hex key (included) and a Philips head screwdriver (not included). You do not have to anchor the shelf to a wall but it does come with wall anchor hardware. The shelves are not adjustable. Hope this information helps in making your decision!

This product is a nice edition to my living room but the craftsmanship is off. Putting the shelves together was difficult. The measurements of the prefilled holes were off and some were drilled too small for the screw. Also holes were not even drilled so I had to measure and drilled them myself.. The instructions were easy and simple but holes were not. Quality control for this product needs to be better before this product is put in stores for purchase or shipment.

Nice for the price but it’s made of a soft wood , which is probably pine that had handling marks from the journey in the box . Had a strong smell of stain when you open the box . Easy enough for DIY but pay attention to hole locations of you will have issues.

I really like the product. Solid and very attractive. But putting it together I got brown wood stain all over my fingers. The wood had never been polyurethaned. I had to take the shelf apart, but product and polyurethane all of it, and then put it back together. I was worried that if I didn’t, it would get brown stain on any books or items I ever put on it. I knew I was ordering a product that needed to be assembled. I did not expect to have to spend more money to make it finished.

Very cute, but it was a total pain to assemble. A lot of the holes were pre drilled incorrectly. One shelf was cracked because of the hole being off. Currently waiting for a response from the manufacturer for a replacement shelf.
