About this item
Description
Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland") and Michael Fassbender ("Inglourious Basterds") star in the romantic drama based on Charlotte Bronte's classic novel, from acclaimed director Cary Fukunaga ("Sin Nombre"). In the story, Jane Eyre flees Thornfield House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester. As she reflects upon the people and emotions that have defined her, it is clear that the isolated and imposing residence - and Mr. Rochester's coldness - have sorely tested the young woman's resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned. She must now act decisively to secure her own future and come to terms with the past that haunts her - and the terrible secret that Mr. Rochester is hiding and that she has uncovered.

Watched it on cable then ordered it the next day! I ordered this on Friday and got it Tuesday. That's what I love about Target, they're fast unlike some other stores...... Anyways, the movie is amazing, I loved their chemistry! I'm not a big romance movie girl but this was better than the Notebook that everyone seems to like. Such a classic. I just got the book. I heard that people who read the book thought the movie should have been at least 2 parts. They said it felt rushed. Honestly I think it would have probably been better if it were 2 parts. I wished this movie last forever....
Interesting Adaptation

I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to think of this film when it first began, since it starts at a point in the story that I was totally not expecting (when Jane runs away and gets lost on the moors),and then tells the story through a series of flashbacks. However, it stayed true to the story and the acting is incredible and the scenery breathtaking. Judy Dench and Michael Fassbender are amazing as Mrs. Fairfax and Mr. Rochester, and Mia Wasikowska is beautifully "plain" and very believable as the young and innocent Jane Eyre. I think I have to say that this is my favorite adaptation thus far of one of my favorite novels of all time.

The best version of Jane Eyre by far!! Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester is fabulous and the two main characters have great chemistry. If you love period pieces, you'll love this!
