Upon reading the fine print and discovering my store-bought milk thistle was imported from China, I IMMEDIATELY ordered from Swanson. And I am happy I did!!

I won't go into the proposed benefits of Milk Thistle (anyone can and should look this up at various scientific study sites), but I had to write about this particular product as I encountered a unique situation with Milk Thistle at a site that analyzes quality and purity in supplements. The testing found, somewhat inexplicably, that silymarin--the active flavonoid complex in Milk Thistle--rarely meets the label listed amount for a lot of brands trying to harness it. The intuitive and leading theory is that much of it degrades in its processing into tablet or capsule form. The outcome is an average lower content of promised silymarin with several of the companies tested. One of the few products to past muster, however, was this one. They've managed to maintain its integrity which is good enough for me. So for my money, I'm glad to have found this out, even in retrospect. I rarely find a reason to leave 5 leaf reviews, or at least 5 leaves in every category, but this struck me as an appropriate time to.

Of all the milk thistle products I have tried, I continue to buy and take this product. I think that my lab results show that it works for me.

I have trusted Jarrow brand for years ever since it was highly recommended by a health food store employee. They said it is a brand that has passed independent testing for dosage accuracy. Some supplements are not the kind where you can feel an instant difference, but this supplement is important and I am confident it is helping.

Jarrow Milk Thistle is the only milk thistle product tested by ConsumerLab, so far, to get their approval. (Swanson's milk thistle was not among the products tested). I have been always very satisfied with Jarrow products and with Swanson's pricing for them.

Great product and great price! I trust Jarrow for quality. This is a lower-dose milk thistle product, so I take a higher number of them each day and split them up before my meals.

Any vitamins or supplements from Jarrow are always superb. This is the best Milk Thistle out there, as it is standardized to 80% Silymarin, at a high percentage/ratio. Do your self a favor try this, you won't be disappointed.
