Noticeably sturdy out of the box, so was eager to connect and see what degree of volume and audio quality this thing pushed out. WOW!!! Let me tell you, after 30+ years of being a music junkie and cycling through more portable speakers than I care to admit, the JBL Flip 7 is seriously impressive. Maybe, perfect? First off, the volume on this little beast is ridiculous. I had it cranked in my bathroom while showering, and I could enjoy the volume - the highs - the mids - the lows - over the water and fan. Super CRISP at the highest volumes - bathroom, garage, kitchen, backyard, etc. Did NOT expect such quality and projection from something this size. The bass response floored me. I've always been skeptical about portable speakers actually delivering low-end that you can feel, but the Flip 7 proves me wrong. Put on some proper 90s hip-hop or Led Zep and you get that chest-thumping thump I usually only expect from larger systems. Those passive radiators on the ends aren't just for show!! Sound clarity across the spectrum is where this thing really shines. The separation between instruments is crystal clear - you can pick out individual guitar parts, vocal layers, and percussion elements that get muddied on lesser speakers. Battery life is solid too - took it camping last weekend and got through an entire day and evening of music without needing a recharge. The waterproofing came in handy when it started raining, didn't miss a beat. This thing delivers!! As the latest model in their popular Flip series, it’s a compact speaker that delivers impressive performance with a few upgrades that make it even better for everyday use, road trips, beach days, and just about anything else. The Flip 7 keeps JBL’s signature cylindrical design but adds a few subtle improvements. The outer fabric is now more rugged and grippy, giving it a more premium feel and better handling. The passive bass radiators on both ends have been refined for a sleeker look and deeper sound. For outdoor use, the Flip 7 now boasts an IP68 rating—an upgrade from the previous IP67—making it even more resistant to dust and water. JBL also introduced a new Push-Lock system that lets you switch out the included carrying strap for a snap hook, giving you more flexibility on the go. The most noticeable upgrade is in the sound. I put it to the test myself—listening for hours not just to evaluate the sound, but also to see if the improved battery holds up. And it does. You can also enable a battery saver mode that slightly reduces bass output, but the difference is minimal during casual listening or background music. Tech-wise, the Flip 7 features Bluetooth 5.3 for faster pairing and a more stable connection. Setup is a breeze—just turn it on, pair it once, and you’re set. It also supports Auracast, allowing you to wirelessly link multiple Flip 7s (or other JBL devices with Auracast) to play the same audio across larger spaces or multiple rooms. As I found out, however, Auracast isn’t backward compatible with the older PartyBoost system. If there’s one downside on the Flip 7, it’s the lack of extras like a speakerphone or voice assistant integration—but those are hardly dealbreakers for most users. I own a handful of JBL products, but the sound quality makes you think that you are listening to a much larger speaker. This single speaker fills my large backyard with the great sound quality, that I have come to expect. Even though we have not had summer weather, I took it to the beach, and it sounded great. I love the interchangeable clip and finger strap. I hope that they come out with a wrist strap, or a bicycle attachment, hint, hint. The Flip 7 is definitely my new favorite Bluetooth.

The music has a clear sound with crisp mids and detailed vocals and more bass than I've seen with previous versions. I like the added EQ so I can adjust my music to different genres of music that I like. Overall this is my go to audio source for listening in my home and outdoor adventures.

Boy,technology sure has advanced in these few years,,, This speaker is amazing! You can hear each individual instrument,separately! We take this speaker when we go camping. In the tent we have a tablet playing a movie and the audio goes to the portable speaker.. That lets us put the speaker closer to our heads and not have to blast the volume(turn on PlaytimeBoost which reduces the super low rumble and lets the voices come in clearer, also allows extended battery playtime) It would be great for vanlife camping as it is completely portable and rechargeable. I have a newer JBL Extreme 4 speaker (just kind of a larger,louder version of the Flip7). It has the Auracast feature which allows multiple speakers to play the same song... I enabled it and WOWOWOW,it was like magic! I could not tell where the sound was coming from. The Small speaker was sitting right here,and the larger Extreme was over by the couch, when I started playing the song to both speakers,you couldn't tell where either speaker was! It was like the sound was coming from somewhere between the two. Just very cool. The speaker can be controlled with JBL Portable App but you don't have to have it running to play audio. It has a small equalizer and some other features you can enable in it. I haven't been able to get the Auracast speakers (the new ones) to talk to the older Flip 4 with JBL Connect which is a bummer,as you know the more speakers the better! I thought the Flip 7 would be very similar sounding to my old Flip 4 but I was mistaken, the audio is much more “separated” and clearer sounding. The build quality is still high quality,seems to have a smoother softer feel. No speakerphone feature on this one,but I never used it on my old one so it didn't matter to me. Most televisions these days have bluetooth which you can easily pair with this speaker. Keep the speaker near you while watching tv so you don't have to blast the volume and keep the whole house up at night! I would recommend the Flip 7 to anyone looking for a high quality,waterproof,,small portable speaker or if you're looking to upgrade an older speaker to the newer technology.

It’s the perfect size that fits in a cup holder, or any pouch designed for a water bottle, and comes with a D-ring so you can attach it to anything. It’s even waterproof. Most importantly, the battery lasts a really long time and I can go several days between charging with daily use. So it’s great for activities on the go and events and adventures outdoors. It sounds great with a wide and full sounding range, and is very loud for it’s size. I’m easily able to turn it up TOO loud for most settings. The bass is amazingly impressive with these side woofer drivers or diaphragms.. whatever they’re called, they create real, physical bass that you would normally only experience from larger speakers. The Flip7 is so easy and convenient to use, I find that I end up bringing it everywhere. Even in the shower, ESPECIALLY in the shower!

I haven’t actually listened to the speaker myself but from my past experience with JBL Speakers it’s been nothing but awesome sound…

I have many of their products and the JBL flip 7 is no exception to their quality engineering of sound products it’s truly incredible. I’ve been a musician for years and love, listening to music and this flip 7 as we Well, know it is very portable and sounds fantastic. The bass the mids and the treble are outstanding and incredible bass.I can’t believe such a small unit to put out the Lows that this product does I highly highly recommend this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off the packaging. The package is durable and well made, not over packaged, so they are thinking about reducing waste which makes me happy. The artwork on the package is clean and informative. The Flip 7 is smaller than the Flip 6 and has beautiful lines and is very handsome. It comes with an interchangeable accessories which are a loop and carabiner. I think the carabiner alone would have been enough. The loop alone is not big enough to fit around your wrist or anything at all so I’m not really sure what it could be useful for that the carabiner couldn’t do. They could have made it more useful if it was longer so you could wear it like a purse or use it around your wrist. The Flip 7 does not come with a charging cable, and I think that is not cool at all. The directions are easy to read and easy to follow. You need to download an app to use this speaker I think it’s very cool that you can use this speaker with other speakers. The equalizer helps you to customize the sound, which is also an added feature I’ve never seen on portable speakers. The sound is amazing! This is one powerful little speaker!

The Flip 7 is effortless to take with me on weekend trips, it takes up next to no space and pumps out a ton of sound. The interchangeable clip system means I can clip it to my backpack and hit the beach or carry it outside of the main compartments. Perfect for a group of friends hanging out and enjoying some tunes. If I’m taking a trip, the Flip 7 is certainly taking the top slot on my packing list.

I've been taking this speaker to the lake, to go dirt-biking with my friends, and it's held up to everything I've thrown at it. The powerful sound and bass fills the room, and is perfect for indoor and outdoor use. I love the peace of mind knowing that it can take a few hits and splashes without ruining the sound or functionality. 16 hours of playtime is absolutely crazy for a speaker of this size and performance. With a full charge, it can last me a whole day filled with music, and it still has plenty of battery life left. Also, when I want to take things up a notch, I'm able to connect to my friend's speaker using Auracast and now we have music coming from every direction. Another handy feature is the quick clip system. It allows me to strap it to my backpack or hammock when traveling, and I can even switch it out for a carabiner depending on what I'm securing it on. Ultimately, great speaker. The sound quality and value this speaker delivers is amazing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After opening the box on my new JBL Flip 7, I was expecting a similar experience to the previous iterations of the speaker, with some tuning and feature upgrades. I was wrong, so wrong. This is the most mind-blowing compact Bluetooth speaker I have ever heard in my life! The Flip 7 sounds so full, warm and rich at mid-level, I thought I had left my JBL Authentics 500 running at lower volume. It really is that good: phenomenal sound quality, great battery life, easy to use app, is tough as nails and compact enough for everyday carry. The Flip 7 is absolutely the best speaker in its category, sounding as loud and full as speakers twice the size! Features - The JBL is an easy-to-use speaker with intuitive tactile controls on the body: Power on/off, Bluetooth pairing, Multi Speaker Connect, Volume down/Track back, Volume Up/Track forward, Play/Pause, carry clip release and nifty battery indicator bar. It also has a simple, streamlined JBL Portable app, with additional controls like EQ presets, custom EQ, PlaytimeBoost, Stereo Group pairing and the ability to wirelessly update your speaker. Out of the EQ settings, I recommend the JBL Signature tuning preset for the most warm, organic listening experience. With the convenient PlaytimeBoost function, it will raise your mid-range frequency volume, while lowering the highs and bass for less battery consumption. This is perfect for news, podcasts or extending your battery life at the cost of sound quality. Build Quality - The build quality of the JBL Flip 7 is tough as nails, rugged and IP68 water resistant for outdoor use. It is apparent the minute you pick the speaker up, that it’s made with quality and longevity in mind. There is also an awesome interchangeable clip system, which allows you to use the included carry loop or carabiner for portability options. The cylindrical shape is very easy to hold, especially with the carry loop, and allows you to play the speaker horizontally or vertically, depending on the situation. The passive radiators on the sides of the Flip are tough but always be careful not to store it near sharp objects. Sound – Simply Wow. This is the most impressive sound I have ever heard from a speaker this small! As soon as I began to warm the JBL up and gradually increase the volume, my ears could not believe what they were hearing. One would assume, due to the shape of the Flip 7, it would lead to a “tube like” boomy sound with a hollow nature. Not at all! In fact, one would be convinced they are listening to a much larger point source speaker with a wooden cabinet. This leads to an organic warmth and richness to the sound quality, especially with the JBL Signature or custom EQ tuning enabled. Overall, the JBL’s highs are crystal clear, the mids are in the center and clean, and the bass hits much fuller and deep than the frequency response alone would suggest. The sweet spot for the speaker volume is from 50% – 75% for the best possible sound quality. Anything above 80% begins to boost the highs and mids for very loud volume levels, but keeps the bass at safe lower levels for a more neutral delivery. All I can say is that I’m not sure how JBL has achieved this high level of sound quality in such a compact little speaker. Get one and check it out for yourself. You simply will not be disappointed! Overall – I simply cannot say enough positive things about the JBL Flip 7 Bluetooth speaker. It is so good in every way, there really isn’t anything I could complain about. It has beyond phenomenal sound for its size, gets more than loud enough, is IP68 water resistant and rugged, is compact and portable, while still being affordable. I am so blown away by the innovation of JBL with the new lineup, that I will have to get the new Charge model when it comes out. The Flip 7 is the best compact Bluetooth speaker I have ever reviewed to date, and I look forward to the future direction the brand is heading! 10/10

I like the removable strap and/or carabiner which makes it easy to clip onto a backpack on way out the door. Has a long battery life of over 16 hours-but I've never come close to that! I do wish it came with a charging cord: fortunately I had one. Very easy to pair with bluetooth. I'm really enjoying this speaker in the kitchen and once the weather warms up outside at the Park. A must buy: just make sure you pick up a charging cord

Set up was incredibly easy on a samsung android device, it turned the device on and bluetooth on my phone and it popped up, synced, and led me to the app to download. The speaker itself sounds pretty good especially considered its size. It doesnt just get loud and distorted it keeps a solid sound profile through all volumes. This is going to be a home gym and workshop speaker (dustproof helps here) for me replacing a full sized sound bar and giving me the option to move it around.
