This has replaced my older and somewhat cheaper turntable, and I didn't think there would be that much difference in quality, but oh I was sooooo wrong. Just looking at it, the whole thing just oozes quality and the build is just superb. The setup of the tonearm is really straightforward and the fact that it is a balanced arm, is even more impressive, as this is something I would expect on a much higher end and more expensive device. This helps to achieve a smoother and less intrusive playback, and there we have the next point. The separate cartridge that neatly slots onto the arm, also gives you the potential opportunity to use different cartridges. As for the sound reproduction, I can honestly say that it is worlds apart from the previous turntable, and is rich and full but has the clarity in the high end frequencies that some tend to miss. The solid aluminium platter coupled with the damped feet and mdf plinth ensures that any vibrations are very effectively reduced.

Break Out the Vinyl!

I purchased the JBL Spinner BT turntable as a part of the Music Lover Pro Bundle with the Authentics 300 speaker. Reviewing it alone, the Spinner is an impressive blend of modern technology and vintage appeal, offering a unique listening experience for those who want to enjoy the warmth of vinyl with the convenience of Bluetooth. The unit feels solid and sturdy with a sleek, minimalist design. It strikes a nice balance between retro charm and modern functionality. The platter is driven by a classic belt-drive configuration, and the cartridge is supplied by Audio-Technica, the moving-magnet AT3600L. Bluetooth functionality allows you to easily connect to wireless speakers or headphones, providing flexibility for modern listening setups. It pairs effortlessly with Bluetooth speakers or headphones, allowing you to enjoy vinyl without the need for wired connections. The Bluetooth range is solid, and the connection is stable, so you won't experience dropouts during listening sessions. The turntable supports aptX HD, but you will need a speaker that supports it (unfortunately the Authentics 300 does not). Beyond Bluetooth, the Spinner BT offers traditional RCA outputs to connect to an external amp or speakers. These outputs offer the phono level direct from the cartridge, ready to plug into a phono stage or an amplifier’s phono input or, if you can flick the preamp switch on the rear, you get a line-level output suitable to feed into any standard amplifier input, or direct into active speakers. The Spinner BT delivers a rich sound typical of vinyl. The audio quality is crisp - upper mids and highs were a little pronounced - with decent bass depth. While I wouldn’t compare it to the absolute fidelity of higher-end audiophile turntables, the sound is perfect for me and, I suspect, most listeners. I tried it with Bluetooth as well as through the internal phono preamp. There was a noticeable difference, of course it was expected, meaning JBL did a nice job pairing the electronics with the cartridge. The JBL Spinner BT Turntable is the perfect unit for anyone who wants to break out their old records without putting them on some suitcase player bought online. It strikes a great balance between classic turntable design and modern tech, offering convenience and good sound quality. While audiophiles might seek more refined options, the Spinner BT is perfect for casual listeners and those who want a reliable, Bluetooth-enabled turntable at an accessible price point. Whether you're a vinyl newcomer or a casual collector, this turntable will likely meet most of your needs. I’m thrilled with it!

The last time I used vinyl player it was almost 30 years ago. I always wanted one as an adult but never got round to it till my older children started to say that it would be so cool to have it. I was so excited when I ordered JBL spinner. I liked the look and simplicity but the same time elegant design with black and gold which matching with my JBL authentic 300 speaker. It looks great together and gives a character to a room. I love that it has a Bluetooth connection and I can keep the speaker in a kitchen when cooking and listen to the music. In my opinion the sound is great. The only downside that vinyl is expensive but it gave me a new opportunity for a new passion to go to charity shops more often to look for authentic vinyl for the good price.
Great looking and sounding kit. No premium feel.

We got this as a modern alternative to our vintage Technics SL. The biggest problem with modern devices is they all just feel cheap and nasty. I can't fault how the turntable operates and the Bluetooth compatibility really makes for a great addition. Something very satisfying about listening to my old records on my wireless headphones. I got this unit paired with an authentics 500 speaker. A great set up and it does indeed perform well but it just doesn't feel as premium as I'd have hoped for a high end product.

I was kindly sent JBL Spinner by Review Club at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. I was a bit sceptical at first, given this is JBL’s first vinyl record player, however I am pleased to confirm that this is a high quality product. I got it to replace my son’s budget player and I can see a big difference in quality. The product is well-made and has a great, premium-looking finish. It was easy to set up - in fact my 13 year old son managed to assemble and connect the player himself i na no time. It was easy to connect via Bluetooth, but we now use it via wired connection with our 25-year old sound system which does not have Bluetooth. The sound is great, the spinner plate is sturdy and big enough to fit a record (the previous one that we had was a lot smaller). This record player looks great on the shelf and it’s easy to use. I would definitely recommend it.

A great spinner from a brand as JBL, that has huge history in music and sound. Easy to set up, with an elegant and modern finish that matches in every living room. The sound quality is amazing and I really enjoy putting my vinyls playing and be immersed in sound. It doesn’t have built in speakers but really easy to connect through Bluetooth to a sound system (or through cables). Really durable and of quality feel. Definitely recommend it!

As a first time user, this was a great introduction for me into the world of turntables. I’ve always been a bit confused about how they actually work but found this one really easy to get the hang of. It arrived very well packaged and the setup process was very straightforward. The instruction manual very clearly laid out all the steps from assembling to playing records, which I found really helpful. I did, however, have to refer to the video visual on YouTube by JBL, to understand how to attach the counterweight but I’m glad that option is available. The setup for Bluetooth was clear but you do have to reconnect each time you turn it on and with it placed awkwardly at the back, this can be a bit tedious. The design is very modern & high quality so it looks very aesthetically pleasing. Audio quality was also very good, however, I did feel like I could hear the music playing through the analog output faintly when up close. If you're playing music loudly on Bluetooth speakers, you probably won't hear it so much and with a wired connection, this would easily be solved. Overall, in my opinion, this is a great option for beginners like myself, if you’re looking to spend a bit more for a sleek Bluetooth enabled turntable of good quality.

This seems to be a well made product, everything seems sturdy. The main thing I think lets it down is the supplied stylus, when using it out of the box, it seemed to lack some dynamics to the sound. I swapped with a stylus from another turntable I have and it instantly sounded better, and it's not a high end stylus, so a recommended upgrade. Bluetooth pairing is easy, though when using with Airpods, I haven't found a way to control the volume, though it does play at a comfortable volume. Maybe the intention is to use with a Bluetooth speaker with its own volume control. I am able to walk around the whole house and still remain connected without any breakup / drop outs. The Audio-Technica cartridge is a good quality cartridge, but also is upgradable. Should you want to look at improving this this can be easily switched out for a great price by yourself. But I'd suggest just leaving the standard cartridge on as it does the job well. Setting up the turntable can be a daunting experience however it is made really easy with this turntable it provides a full guide and clear setup instructions so I would expect even beginners would get up and running in no time. Overall it is a great turntable suitable for not only beginners or those starting out with vinyl playback but also those looking for upgraded system. Great load of playback versatility and at a acceptable price level.

The JBL Spinner is a user-friendly turntable with good sound and a great modern look. It is a solid option for both beginners and those looking to upgrade their vinyl listening experience. I found the turntable easy to use, the set-up was simple, and easy to connect to my speakers. On the whole it delivers well-balanced audio, which I think is down to the Audio Technica cartridge and built-in phono preamp. Bluetooth connection was good, but I tend to use this in a wired configuration. The black and gold aesthetic looks great in my apartment. All in all, a great product.

We have had a record player since 2017 and were on the lookout for a new one due to moving house and wanting one that took up less space, especially as we had very big speakers attached to the old one. A Bluetooth player was the solution as we can connect this to our soundbar, and the whole setup looks a lot neater. This one is perfect and it looks so stylish and plays records like a dream. It was well packaged when delivered and fairly easy to setup. We are really happy with it and have had lots of compliments on how lovely it looks too. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new record player.

I really struggled to pair this quite disappointed that it wouldn't pair with anything. It was very nicely packed and easy to put together. You need speakers with it to give it that classic sound. The colour we got was black and it looks so nice. I love how it has the euro plug with it as well so I can easy play it anywhere.

A very capable and versatile turntable

The JBL Spinner is a very capable and versatile entry-level turntable. It is nicely designed, with colours and lines that are very sympathetic with other, current audio equipment. To start with, out of the box, some assembly is required. There is a good step-by-step assembly guide and with a degree of care, anyone should be able to get the unit up and running quite quickly. Obviously, the cartridge head/tone-arm are the most critical items for assembly and balancing. The assembly guide emphasises the need for caution in these areas, however, perhaps additional technical information would be useful? The real versatility of this turntable is the wide range of connectivity options provided, all of which are excellent. I have found the Bluetooth (BT) most impressive – I have paired successfully with my Pioneer NC-50DAB Amplifier (Network CD Receiver), various BT headphones and earbuds. The BT seems very robust and I never experienced a dropped connection, although re-pairing will be necessary if other devices are paired in between. My only criticism concerns the BT pairing button, it is poorly located on the rear panel and is quite small, hard to locate and not comfortable to use. This could have been located in a more convenient place and have a more pleasing shape. Hard-wired output is via RCA-style stereo connectors for either direct connection to a separate amplifier (with the built-in pre-amp switched on) or as a line-output to active speakers (or perhaps a headphone amplifier), with the pre-amp switched off. These connections perform as expected. The attraction of the BT connectivity will, no doubt, dictate how this turntable is used by most people. If you have a large vinyl collection, I think users will be pleased with the sound reproduction, although it is unlikely to achieve such a detailed frequency response compared to the CD version of the same vinyl album. This is unlikely to be noticeable when using BT headphones/buds or speakers.

Setting the turntable up was relatively straightforward with mainly clear instructions guiding the user. However, we got stuck at one point, not understanding how far to push the counter-weight as this was less clear in the instructions. The final look of the turntable is elegant and chic and could fit in with any modern home décor. There is a quality feel to the materials making up the turntable which gives me confidence in their durability. The sound quality is brilliant, it plays records wonderfully. It doesn’t have any in-built speakers but with both cable and Bluetooth options, this was perfect for me. Overall, this turntable is easy to use, is made up of high quality materials, plays records smoothly without interruption and looks great – highly recommend!

This is my first vinyl player and decided on this one to bring myself into the scene. Build quality is amazing which jbl have made a very sturdy and long lasting product. Its definitely a product ill have in many years to come and not something will fall apart and break. Bluetooth pairing was very easy to use making it super efficient to connect to my Bluetooth speaker. The latency with using the bluetooth feature is noticable but doesnt ruin the lisening experiance. Sound quality is out of this world bringing out amazing tones through the music you can't hear on any digital listening devices. Only one big thing is that the tonearm doesn't automatically pull off the vinyl when the music has finished which makes it very easy to scratch and damage your records. So only improvement would be to give it an auto return tone arm. Overall I am really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend to people looking for a new vinyl player 🎸🎶🎶

I wanted to upgrade my old WiFi Spinner , for a more modern and sophisticated one, so I decided to have a go with JBL. This JBL Spinner BT is very easy and simple to use, no problem assembling it. Very beautiful and modern colours. Very easy to pair with any portable speaker, but having to constantly pair it every time I plan to listen to a vinyl, is a bit annoying. Best option is use the analog outputs, problem solved. Another thing that I dislike , is that the tonearm doesn't retract after the vinyl ends. For a Spinner with so good quality, having to manually retract the tonearm, is not much enjoyable. Apart from those issues, it's a lovely Spinner !

Set up wasn't too tricky, the only issue being the quick start guide could be clearer about how to fit the weight to the tone arm. The feet seem to do a good job at dampening vibrations, sat on the desk that I'm typing on isn't causing any noise. The lack of auto start and auto return seem odd, features that I'm used to on the 70s and 80s turn tables I normally use, but in practice not really a problem, the needle drops very gently to the record when using the lever to lift and lower the arm. The playback speed seems accurate and constant (a guitarist who likes to play along with records).

I’ve had the spinner for a month now and I had to say that I am delighted with the whole package. Assembly was so easy and then connecting it via Bluetooth was just as easy. The clarity and range of sound is excellent. On the negative side I feel the belt is not robust enough and the lack of auto return is a missed opportunity. Overall I would recommend this product.

I've been really pleased with the quality of this product. I did find the set up guide on YouTube really helpful in setting up the turntable. After watching this I found it really clear how to set up the tone arm and so on. The beauty of the Bluetooth function is how easy the turntable is to use any where around the house. I've set mine up to use in the bedroom. It's really helped me start off the day in a good mood having music on whilst I get ready to take on the world! I've got some other turntables and I was planning to swap the stylus on this turntable for quite an expensive one, but I'm so pleased with the sound, I really don't think it's necessary for me to change the stylus. I'm really happy I decided to buy this product. I've already talked a friend into buying one!
