Wasn't sure at first, but when I used it OMG it worked great. I pushed the pencil all the way in and I don't even have to hold it when I turn the crank.

I love robots, so anything robots catches my eye. For $3, this is probably the best pencil sharpener I've ever bought. The mechanism actually pulls the pencil in towards the very sharp helical cutter. You just shove your pencil in what will seems like too far, then hold the robot and turn the crank. The resulting point is aesthetically pleasing with a slight curvature towards the tip. The only drawback is that it will continue to grind away at your pencil to a nib if you don't stop.

Easy to use and clean. Creates a neat sharp point without breaking lead. It also holds onto the pencil for you. All you have to do is put your pencil in the hole, turn the crank clockwise to load the pencil into the sharpener and when you think that you achieved the desired sharpness, turn the crank counter clockwise, and it spits your pencil out with a brand new sharp point ready for writing or coloring. Also works on colored pencils.

This thing works so much better than we thought it would for $3!! My 9 year old loves how well it sharpens and with just a few turns.

It’s a pencil sharpener, it’s FANTASTIC. You have to push the pencil a bit initially but it grabs the pencil and pulls it in as you turn. I’m an adult artist and it’s my favorite pencil sharpener I’ve ever owned. A one star review must not have pushed the pencil in enough to get it to the mechanism inside.

I love how this holds the pencil in place for you while you sharpen it. You just have to make sure you push it in far enough. You feel the pencil sort of get locked in place. Absolutely worth $3. The one small issue I have with it is that the compartment that holds the pencil shavings is hard to pull out. But that does make sure kids won't accidentally spill shavings all over the place so it's not that big a deal.

I love the ease of use and cute design of the pencil sharpener. It holds the pencil and draws it in as you turn the handle.

I found this pencil sharpener in the store as it was not available online, but it does not sharpen pencils. The sharpener does not stay firmly to the surface and it is extremely difficult to hold the pencil and sharpen at the same time. After multiple attempts I could not get the pencil to sharpen. Glad my old sharpener still works.
