submitted byJules - 1 month agoA: It is made of individual boards glued together, as is visible in the photos. Since wood warps, a solid piece of wood would curl up & not be able lie flat. Individual boards are arranged in alternating directions (head-to-toe, then the next board toe-to-head, etc.). The pressure of one board pressing against another prevents warping.

Love the Boos wooden cutting boards. So much better to use than the plastic ones that leave tiny bits of plastic in your food. Wood is so easy to clean, has natural antibacterial qualities and just looks pretty as well. I also like they are made in USA. Got this one at a great price around the holidays

I wanted to love this cutting board because someone recommended it but I was really surprised and disappointed by the workmanship. I feel like I’m going to get a splinter from using it because it’s not properly sanded down (see photo). I thought Boos was known for its quality, I’ve seen their butcher blocks before and this does not feel like the same company. I know that this is nowhere near the price of a butcher block but $45 for a small cutting board is still quite a lot yet for what you get and I’m sad to say the quality doesn’t match the price.

This is a high quality cutting board. I will say I thought with the way the description was written that this came with the oil and wax to seal it, so I was disappointed when it arrived and it was only the board (it seemed like a much better deal when I thought it came with a board, wax and oil). I think it’s a bit pricey for what it is, but I also know it will last.

I’ve had this block for about 8 months. When I got it, I sealed it and treated it. I oil treat my wooden boards regularly. 8 months in and it’s splitting already (it’s 6 pieces of wood glued together). I thought this might be of higher quality, but I’m very disappointed that it is already splitting. I have 3 other wooden cutting boards I use in rotation - and this one is the worst by far.

First board came chipped. Customer service sent me a new one. Second board is warped and we only hand wash it. Not sure how that happened. These are poor quality cutting boards. I do not recommend.

It has a good weight to it, but is light enough that it’s easy to maneuver around the kitchen. I plan to use this mainly for slicing bread, but I can also see myself using it display snacks when I have people over. I would definitely recommend, and will be looking at additional products from this brand as well!
