The vinyl mastering is stellar! The sound is full and rich. The pressing is noise-free, and the beautiful clear vinyl is a plus. And the inclusion of the bonus 7-inch, containing the two other Journey classics that were omitted from the original release because of time limitations, completes this stellar package. A must-have!

The vinyl pressing is nice and quiet as well as nice and flat. The record played beautifully.

One of my favorite albums of all time somehow garners even more favor thanks to Target. In this 40th anniversary overhaul, “Frontiers” is presented on a 1 disc, Coke bottle clear vinyl with a stunning remastering job from the original analog tapes. Cut by the well respected Chris Bellman and mastered by Adam Ayan, it’s like hearing it for the first time. Also included is a bonus 7” featuring the two remixes; Only the Young and the wildly popular 2022 “Stranger Things” remix of “Separate Ways”. The B side features studio versions of Ask the Lonely and Only the Young, available preciously on the Greatest Hits releases and their respective sound tracks, but factually recorded for the Frontiers album, only to be omitted due to what is described as “restraints on vinyl” at the time. Had they been included on the album originally, even more people, in my opinion, would hold Frontiers above Escape as Journey’s masterpiece.
