Q: What are the cleaning instructions? How comfortable is it to sit on?

A: Anne, Thank you for your interest in the Julie Curved Back Slipper Chair. This chair has a Code W which stands for ‘Water based cleaner’ and these are the easiest fabrics to clean. This is not the same as being machine washable, however. This code means that you can spot clean your fabric with a water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. You can use a brush to agitate the cleaner or even an upholstery attachment on a carpet cleaner. Be careful to avoid over-wetting the stain. As for the comfort of the chair, it is very comfortable to sit in for long periods if desired. The cushion is firm but not hard.

I ordered this on March 29 and it arrived on April 8, so I am happy with the delivery time. The chair comes packaged in cardboard looking exactly like a chair; be VERY careful if you are using a cutter to open the box! The front and sides of the bottom lining of the chair are attached with velcro; if you pull the velcro back you find the box of hardware/legs and the directions, which are very clear. The cord holding the box to the underseat needs to be untied (I kept trying to pull it out without untying it). The legs are clearly numbered "2" (there are two of them and they go in the front) and "3" and "4" (these go in the back). Once I had the bolts and washers assembled, I timed myself on how long to put the chair completely together - 7 minutes and 42 seconds which included me dropping the allen wrench into the back of the chair and having to fish it out. The material feels like a brushed cotton, almost an ultrasuede.
