Tennessee’s rising star Emi Sunshine has teamed up with Kala to create the Emi Sunshine signature ukulele. Born Emilie Sunshine Hamilton and captivated from a ng age by “salt of the earth” mountain music and melodies of Appalachia, Emi Sunshine launched her professional career performing at churches, community outings and local festivals. After her raw performance from a Tennessee flea market went viral on Tube in 2014, Emi began cultivating national attention with her staggeringly powerful and distinct vocal style. Deeply influenced by country forebears such as Hank Williams, June Carter and Dolly Parton, Emi has spent years touring nationally and coming into her own as a prolific songwriter and storyteller.Emi has been accompanied by the ukulele every step of the way as her accompanying instrument of choice. The Emi Sunshine Signature Concert Ukulele features an original, Emi-inspired design placed atop the foundation of Kala’s most trusted flagship instrument design. This instrument features a satin spruce top adorned with a custom black vine rosette, mockingbird headstock and accentuating black binding supported by a traditional satin mahogany back, sides and neck. Hand drawn with Emi’s guidance, the instrument represents her values, process and burgeoning creative voice.
