[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for the black Friday sale and took it with me to a hostel in Chicago over Christmas. I was really surprised at how warm this blanket is it’s amazing and light. I would love to get the Arctos 20 as well - maybe next year that one will be on sale (hint hint)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it, wish it was a little lighter but this thing works great. My favorite part is the ability to use it as a poncho. I used this to stay bearable warm in 23 degree 30mph wind. I did have base layers and outer layers on but this helped me push the boundaries of being ultralight and tolerable warmth. Like to see it get lighter and warmer but overall it’s well worth the purchase. The fabric seems strong enough as well. Again can’t say enough good about being able to pull it out of pack and use as a poncho.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, I’m not quite sure how to rate this. It isn’t that it’s bad but it isn’t close to its rating. I wish these had realistic ratings and actual ratings on how much fill these have. Going into the mountains with 32-34 weather on motorcycles I’m glad I didn’t depend on this as my sole quilt. I’m sure it’s going to be decent in 48-50 degree weather but that’s not the reason why I purchased it. For a similar price one could purchase a Featherstone quilt that has higher spec downtek 850 and significantly more fill.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i can sleep so comfortably in my hammock down into the 30s with the Firebelly 30 degree quilt and a zero degree overquilt/bag. The length was a key factor for me, so my feet are not left in the cold, and Responsible Down is a must-have for me. I also appreciate the thoughtful design, with the opening to wear this as a poncho around camp at night and the cinch cords. Have been using with another brand hammock - it works great! but will probably get a Mantis when I'm ready to upgrade the whole experience because I have been so happy with the Kammok accessories

Firebelly 30°F, honestly maybe 40 to 45°F

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested the Firebelly 30°F as an underquilt on three nights in November. The overnight low temps ranged from about 30°F to 47°F. I was not able to maintain body heat without adding another underquilt to the mix. The second underquilt, rated at 45°F, was overkill on the 47°F night but worked to keep the chill at bay when temps were in the upper 30's. To be fair, I am a cold sleeper. So I will have to retest the Firebelly 30°F as a standalone underquilt during warmer temps (=/> mid 40's) to see how well it does at keeping me warm. My set-up consisted of the Firebelly 30°F underquilt along with a 45°F underquilt (on two of the three nights), a Hammock Gear underquilt protector, a Kammok Roo Double, a down overquilt, a Kammok Field Blanket which was suspended over the hammock, the Swiftlet stand and a rainfly/wind barrier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes an excellent quilt in my hammock up until around 55 degrees farenhieightvwith no underquilt. I was worried the neck hole would bleed heat but the bevel they have in that spot compensates nicely. I'm a little short(5' 3") so it fits more like a dress than a poncho but it doesn't drag on the ground or anything.

Poncho mode saved my butt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did an overnight bikerafting trip down the Patuxant in mid February. I checked the weather and it said it was suppose to be no colder than 36. Well, I was soaked from paddling for 5 hours and all I had was a fleece hoodie to keep me warm. My jacket and all layers were wet except my fleece and a dry pair of sleeping pants. I set up the roo single and my firebelly with some offbrand tarp. The buttons did not quite line up, but I fixed that with a little loop of line attached to the gear loops on the hammock. It worked great. It got down to 21F. By 5am I was on the verge of sweating using the firebelly as an underquilt and my 20 deg down bag as my sleeping bag. A beaver splashed at me twice, and when I woke in the morning all my cloths were frozen solid. I got up, threw on the poncho mode from my firebelly and packed all my stuff and inflated my packraft being tolerably warm. I packed it up and put it in the hull and finished up my trip after donning my frozen cloths. The paddle drip was turning to ice and so was everything else on the raft for the last 2 miles. It was so awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in Washington state, the weather can be cold but also damp so it just feels colder. The fire belly is perfect for our conditions. Light weight and excellent insulating the bottom side of our hammock. We also love the poncho option. All around a fantastic blanket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is the coziest, warmest, travel sized blanket I have ever used. I can stay warm and toasty with just this blanket most nights in the 40-50s. Love that it can be walked around with in poncho mode then snapped together for a sleeping bag. Sometimes I use it open for a big bed that my dog can crawl under for some warmth too. I didn't think I would need such a versatile blanket, but now I don't know how I went this long without one. Can't wait for summer hammock camping to use this as an underquilt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re on the fence - go for it. It’s very light weight and warm. I have not tested outside yet - but it drops low in the house (not insulated very well) and it keeps me warm when watching tv and when sleeping. We have the Field and Mountain blankets that have done a great job when at the beach early mornings and evenings, so I’m confident the Firebelly will not disappoint.
