Kenmore 1.1 cu ft Microwave - Black: Countertop Oven, 1000W, Child Lock, 6 Programs, 1 Year Warranty

This started malfunctioning after 5 weeks. Low sounds which quickly became banging sounds, and the plate would actually jump up and down. Wished I had read the reviews before buying it.

Powerful and easy to operate.

We have tried two of these microwaves and both have worked for less than a year. I highly advise not buying this microwave.

Worked good for about a year but now only displays "FAIL" on the screen.

This microwave has died in just a month, most expensive microwave I've ever bought yet the only one that has ever stopped working. It doesn't heat up, just spins with the light on. Not even worth it if you get the warranty too as the button usage is inconvenient and there is no way to mute like all other microwave. Trash

5 stars. Very fast, efficient, and fits in very small kitchens where space is limited. Doesn't pool water. I can't think of any improvements I would make to this model. This was on sale at Target and definitely worth it. Thanks to both Target & Kenmore.

Heats, but is insanely loud and the belt that drives the plate rotation squeals so loud. It's less than a year old.

Purchased a Kenmore elite microwave in 2012 and it just quit so wanted to buy another quality Kenmore product. This is not it. First the chintzy-ness of this is unbelievable. The light in the microwave is so dim you can't even tell what is inside. The buttons on the front are so hard to read you need a flashlight. The turntable feels like it doesn't even fit this model. Not what a Kenmore product should be. I am returning this product.

This entire review is just my angry but honest opinion. I don't know how this thing got four stars. In my opinion, one star is too much but you can't give less. It didn't last five months. It was fine at first and then it started turning itself off. I have used microwaves most of my life, yes, I operated it properly . I would try to cook at a preset time, it would make a noise and then flash the clock ( yes the clock was already set ) and I would have to reset the clock. This happened constantly, it got to the point, I would have to reset the clock several times in a row before it would cook. It was very lightweight, I couldn't push the button to open the door without the entire microwave sliding across the counter until it touched the wall I actually had to hold it steady with my left hand while I opened the door with my right hand. My new GE doesn't do that.I originally wanted a GE but being tight on funds I bought this through target circle thinking I was getting a deal. Well, I think the joke was on me but I am still not laughing. I joined Sam's Club after I bought this and they have the GE, same size but 50 less wattage power for only $99.00 I bought a GE today from Sam's Club and after saving the microwave plate, I enjoyed throwing the Kenmore in the dumpster. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing it crash. I had my old GE for 10 years before it died. Sam's Club gives you a 90 return option for microwaves and I did buy the extended warranty but with GE I don't think I will need it. GE also let's you disable the child lock feature if you don't have any kids in the house. I will not buy any more appliances or big ticket items from Target. To be fair, I bought a Keurig mini and a Whirlpool mini fridge that are both still going strong. I bought this on sale and I feel cheated. Again, this entire review is only my personal opinions and feelings but I am angry. I will buy little things from Target but nothing over $30.00 apiece and let me tell you about when I went to the customer service counter, the woman at the North 98, Lakeland,Fl store was very rude and dismissive. I don't know about other target stores but this location seems to have several employees who feel free to say whatever they want to me. I was wearing a jacket with my work logo on it and the cashier ringing me up felt free to disparage my job. They do have some really nice employees too. I try to remember the rude ones and only go for the ones I know are nice. Don't get me started on self checkout. Target doesn't pay my salary and I will not be free labor.

The product is great, works fine so far, but of course, I ordered online and got to pickup only to find a dented box. Get home and open it, and the entire side of the microwave is dented to the point the top buckled. I don't want to deal with the return aspect so I'll just use it til it dies. But jeez, Target. If you sell these products, make sure they don't get damaged before you sell them. What kind of customer service is this to the customer AND to Kenmore?

Worst crummy thing ever.

A lot lighter than microwaves of 20 years ago.

If you value your safety please do not buy this. Worked fine for 5 months and caught fire within a minute of it being on. I ignored the previous reviews that agreed, please don’t be like me. Additionally, the microwave wasn’t great before it caught fire. The locking mechanism is extremely annoying and can’t be turned off. It also runs extremely loud.

It's Too LOUD cooks great even pressing the door button is too loud. A great microwave for the hard of hearing!!

Caught fire after 6 months.

It stopped venting correctly after 7 months, we have it on the counter properly vented and just isn’t working now. Luckily it is within the warranty time frame but I am disappointed with the quality.

Rusted out in less than 2 years. Purchased this in July of 2023 and already had to replace it November 2024 because the bottom is rusted pretty severely and I don't feel safe continuing to use it. I usually like the Kenmore brand but I wouldn't buy another microwave from them.

I replaced a 900w microwave with this one. (of course, thinking it would be a bit more powerful). Much to my surprise, it was not. The 900w heated better & held the heat longer. This will be returned :(
