Kevin's Natural Foods Gluten Free Chicken Chile Verde - 17oz

Love the Verde sauce. I usually put it over quinoa and add some corn chips. I'm not sure how what everyone else does, but I'm able to make one of these kits my meal prep for the whole week. I just add veggies, grains and a side.

I love the other Kevin's meals so we thought this would be a no brainer. We eat Kevins weekly, so when I say I was shocked to find bones, it's backed by countless great meals by the same brand. None of the other varieties we've tried have had bones, but this one was just off in every way. The flavor was like a tomatillo salsa, couldn't taste anything else besides that bland slightly sour tomatillo flavor, the herbs were not discernable and it was more watery than their other sauces offered. Just a flop altogether. Try their coconut curry that's the best one!

This was better than I expected. I really liked the verde sauce and the chicken was not bad. I ended up adding some Good and Gather Southwest-style burrito rice & bean & veggie mix to bulk up the meal. The reason I took off one star is because, like others have said, it is not enough food for 3 servings. It’s got 2 at best. However, even for 2 servings, finding a pre-made Paleo meal for less than $10 is awesome! I will keep buying this.

Definitely only 2 servings but for a quick dinner it was pretty good. Helps to break up chicken when cooking for better texture. Good sauce.

For a quick meal, it's fine. I thought the sous vide chicken was okay -- certainly better than most prepared meals. The sauce was okay, kind of bland and goopy. I made it differently than the label suggested. I inadvertently defrosted the package so when it came time to reheat it, I put a layer of sauce in the dish, then the chicken, then covered it with the sauce. Then I nuked it for 3 mins. It was fine. As other people have commented, tho, this is NOT a 3-serving package. It contains one chicken breast (left and right sides) and is very obviously TWO servings.

The sauce wasn’t bad at all. But the chicken. I had to spit it out. The texture was terrible. I was really hoping to like this because you don’t kind too many pre made paleo meals but it’s a nope for me.

Had high hopes but texture was too chewy , made it difficult to enjoy. Sauce was too sweet

Small portion, only 2 servings. The taste is really good. I make a bowl with cilantro lime rice and pinto beans with it to make it a full meal. Add cheese and sour cream and it's better and cheaper than a Chipotle bowl.

There is Not 3 servings in this container. When weighed it’s always alil over 9 oz. The meat taste great but def not 3 servings of 5 oz as the label indicates.

This brand has delicious flavors but the quality of meat seems to be a strange texture. Wish it was organic!

This is probably our favorite Kevin’s dinner we’ve had. It smell’s spicy but it’s not at all. It’s super yummy and flavorful!

Just as good as all the other Kevin's flavors, but it's a tad bit sweeter than expected. Flavor is good, no heat just flavor. I'm torn between this one and the chile lime. Not the taste I was expecting from chili Verde but I'd definitely buy it again! Love that it actually has bits of onion & peppers! I think the Korean BBQ is the best one... so far!

not gonna lie, I was feeling super apprehensive about this when I first opened it. the chicken was literally in one big chunk and didn’t look very appetizing at all. I chopped up the chicken in fairly tiny pieces with the help of a spatula as it was cooking on the stovetop. I completely neglected the instructed cooking time on the package— I just cooked until it looked good to me lol. once I added the sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes, it started to look more promising. I ended up adding it to a bowl of brown rice with some of the good & gather garlic parsley mini potatoes. I added a bit of my own seasoning to the entire bowl (garlic powder, cayenne, red pepper flakes). after all was said and done, it ended up being pretty delicious. I’m kind of weird when it comes to chicken. it grosses me out sometimes, but this chicken actually seemed pretty good quality and the flavor was delicious. I had leftovers and it reheated nicely in the microwave, too. for how easy and yummy it ended up being, I think I’ll get this again.
