A Hospital Must

5 out of 5 stars

I was a scheduled c-section, and our baby was in the NICU for 4 days. I was so glad I had this gown. I couldn’t wear it for the surgery of course, but as soon as I was able to stand up on my own, I changed into it. It is soft and warm and was roomy enough for my postpartum belly. I was 155lbs pre-pregnancy, and 173 full term. Ease of access-wise, this gown was super convenient for my colostrum collecting, pumping sessions, breast feeding, and skin to skin contact. Loved the Velcro. Sooo much nicer than the awful hospital gowns.

Love it! Mostly soft and has multiple access points. I am excited to wear this instead of a hospital gown! I did give it 4 stars because I think the price point is just a little steep for what it is. I would be curious to know how much this actually cost to make.

Ugly & unflattering, not much better than a hospital gown.

It’s meh. Very ugly and unflattering in my opinion. The length is weird for the cut of this. It’s just a shapeless column of fabric that stops mid-shin. I like and prefer long gowns, but not when they’re this shapeless. Also the velcro sits weird and is scratchy. Im plus size, so hospital gowns NEVER cover me. I’ve already been to my hospital and used a gown. My entire backside was exposed and that just makes me feel so uncomfortable. I don’t care that “they’re gonna see everything anyway.” That’s not the point, it’s uncomfortable for me to walk around with my butt out for hours in labor. I really wanted something that I felt comfortable in for labor and delivery, this really disappointed me. I only bought this one because I had a target gift card and this is the only option available for my size in something like this on target. If I have the time/money before my baby is born, I will be returning this and buying something nicer and more flattering from a different company. Currently tried on at 36 weeks. I ordered a 1X/2X and was a size 20-22 in jeans before pregnancy if that helps. I put pictures of, what I would consider, a normal cut for a night-gown type garment in to compare the cut of it.

Overall, I am super happy with my Kindred Bravely purchase. The maternity clothing are very soft, comfy, and are quite large to be honest. However, I see the size being too large as having the great ability to grow with me (I am currently 6 months pregnant, so 3 more months to grow into the clothes)! So if you want a more fitted look, you may want to refer to the size chart. However, I love that it'll grow with me so I choose a larger size in the end!

The eyelet buttons on the top don't stay closed on the left side so it's not quite as functional as I would like.

I'm excited to use the gown for post delivery (I can't bring myself to use it during 😅) I love the pockets and snaps and velcro. The velcro is on BOTH SIDES.

I didn't use the gown for actual delivery, but for postpartum. The gown itself is soft and comfortable, but the snaps for breastfeeding got a bit annoying. They popped open multiple occasions while I was adjusting my position.

Best Labor & Delivery Gown!

This was the best thing to wear at the hospital during labor & delivery! When we passed another laboring mom in the hallway while walking, she was holding her hospital gown closed and it looked annoying. This one has Velcro all the way up the back and front so the medical team could access me for anything they needed, but I could close it up when I wanted more coverage. It was perfect to open it up for skin-to-skin after birth. I know I'll be buying this for everyone's baby shower I have coming up!

Smaller after wash

I tried this on and loved it, so I washed it for my “go bag”. I ended up getting admitted for a few days for hypertension and tried wearing it, but it gapped at the Velcro now. I’ll be using it at home for nursing, but man I wish I could have used it in the hospital.

Loved this gown for the hospital! I put it on after delivery for my recovery and it was just perfect. There was easy access for baby to have skin to skin time and was comfortable for recovery. Highly recommend!

Great Design, Not as Soft

Perfect design. Love all the snaps, velcros, and pockets! But wishing the fabric was softer. Wish there was a bamboo option. But overall has great functionality and will work well when I deliver in just 5 weeks!!

Delivery gown functional yet comfy

When I first tried the gown on I thought it was way too big (S/M/L). However I quickly realized in the hospital that I didn't want anything tight-fitting. I wore a regular hospital gown for delivery and the first day due to all the blood and amniotic fluid. On the second day I showered and put this on. It was perfect! The front velcro made it easy to be examined and the breastfeeding access was wonderful and useful for skin to skin. I've continued wearing this at home.

Didn’t like it

I didn’t like it I have not delivered the baby yet but how ever I did wash it to have it clean and ready for this month. The size says XL-XXL I’m a 1x and it’s not big on me at all it fits me a bit snugged. Also the material is itchy scratchy and hard where the Velcro is some of the snap buttons are cheap and don’t stay closed with any movement it unsnaps. I was looking forward for the gown but was disappointed.
