Kingston XS2000 Portable SSD 1000GB External Rugged Drive - Model SXS2000/1000G

FAR from as fast as they claim at writing new files... In fact, it is rather slow in my opinion, however, once they are on the drive, it is lightning fast. AND, unlike the competition's USB units, it has not crashed on me or lost data... so it is acceptable.

Just finished filling and am impressed with speed, so I ordered a 4TB.

This XS2000 has shown great speed and reliability. I am very pleased with it and recommend it to others to use in situations where the speed to storage and access are required.

Great size, capacity and initial speed. Slows drastically when writing numerous, large files. Gets quite warm when transferring large amounts of files .

So far very happy with the purchase. The best about this drive is size. However, my laptop is not showing 36mb/sec speed during data transfer. I will try again and see if it's really fast. Only giving 4 Star due to limited speed, as I was expecting at least 1000ms/sec. :)

Very small, I like that. So far it works as it should. I hope to see an 8TB SSD soon.

Speed through the thunderbolt was about 850, I would have thought it to max out. Still fast though!

Its great if you are not using it for continuously long times. It overheats and slows down.

Pictures are a big thing for me, now I can make room for other documents. You do have to pay attention to the specs to see if it is compatible to your computer, I did have to buy an adapter to hook it to my computer.

I will purchase a couple more because they are easy to use and so very portable. It also comes with a rubber sleeve that protects the device.

This is great to store things like family pictures on, which is what we use it for, without taking up room on the gaming computer. I would rather have our pictures on this anyway, as it can be removed and put on another computer if needed. Very handy.

The small size made it easy to fit in my pocket as one was upstairs and one was downstairs, saved a lot of space on the desk. Definitely get htis if you need small size, but fast storage.

It isn't all that pretty, but it makes up for a lack of good looks with great specs, impressive speed, water resistant, abnd shock resistant. I have. had good luck with these drives, and I've tried other SSD drives- this kingston stacks up nicely with the best ssd's. It is especially fast on a Mac thunderbolt 3/4 port.

The Kingston XS2000 2TB High-Performance Portable SSD comes with a rubber sleeve that keeps the drive durable, water-resistant, and dust resistant. I saved a lot of files on this drive instead of my PC (for security). Very fast transfers of even large groups of large photo files. I use it several times a week, mostly writing to it, and sometimes reading from it. Never any problems, no corrupt sectors, etc. My PC always recognizes it (my older drives were hit and miss for recognition). Loads of space, and it seems sturdy and it never makes a sound and barely warms up even with extended use. USB-C is great too. The drive is small enough to be carried around easily and fits in my pant pockets ( portability in a pocket ). It has freed up over 100GB of space on my laptop and now my laptop is experiencing less lag. A great tool to help increase the capacity of your any laptop new or old.

I typically keep it connected to my desktop for automatic backups. Its small size means it takes up very little space on my desk. When I need to bring files with me, I put on the rubber protective cover (the inclusion of which is a very nice touch) and put it in my laptop bag. It is so much smaller and lighter than my old external hard drive that it is much more convenient for traveling. In fact, it is small enough that I could even keep it in my pocket. File transfers are quick when attached to the USB 3.0 ports on my computer (although it also supports USB 3.2).

It has plenty of storage but the only thing that I do no like is the hook up port on it is a type c port. I have to go out a purchase a cord to turn it is a usb for his system but for a laptop this would work perfect.
