I'm an old man new to drinking bourbon and I have been trying many different bourbons looking for my "go to", I just finished my first drink of Knob Creek 9 year 100 proof and it was really good. Looking forward to finishing this bottle and trying other Knob Creek whiskeys. Dennis

I vastly appreciate the complexity of flavor presented by the Knob Creek 9 year. It starts with a "Jim Beam" nose and front-of-tongue flavor but separates itself with nutty undertones, pulled together with a caramel aftertaste. This is a great bourbon for people looking to expand their palate. I would put this up against the craft line of 99% of bourbon companies.

I used to savor the smell of the cork whenever I opened the bottle. Vanilla. Divine. The flavor and feel as I sipped was an experience. So smooth. Classic. Lovely on its own, nothing added. Then the cork became plastic. Still tasted good, but…not quite the same. Just opened a 1.75L and was basically horrified about the screw top. Zero vanilla smell. And the taste? Oh my. Metallic? NOT the same bourbon. At all. Not sippable. Stuck with a 1.75L bottle that I wouldn't dare give away. Jim would never approve. Knob Creek sucks now. Heartbreaking.
Punches way above is price class.

I kid you not when I say I am a whiskey drinker to guys they flip out. Knob creek made me a whiskey drinker. Wow this is so delicious. Tried other brands and nothing compares. Highly recommend.

the single barrel makes a great highball. it is also really great served straight with a single ice cube. after opening my most recent bottle of knob creek 9 a few times, the plastic cap that was glued to the plug broke off. I needed to use channel lock pliers to remove the plug and reopen the bottle. The plug was very hard to remove. seems like the plug was to big for the opening causing excess force needed to open the bottle.

Thank you for your review! To give some background, we recently changed the waxing process of Knob Creek within the past few years. Our previous wax can still be found at the retail level, as well as our newly waxed bottles.
The previous wax could be brittle and crumbly, while our new formula is firm and smooth. Additionally, the pull tape configuration on the bottle has changed directions with the new process. When opening a bottle of Knob Creek with the previous wax, you would pull the tab clockwise around the bottle to open. With the newly formulated wax closures, you must pull the tab counterclockwise around the bottle to open. Pulling the tab the opposite way could result in breakage or difficulty in opening. We hope this helps!

The other day, I watched Breaking Bad, and in one scene, I noticed that Hank (one of the main characters) and Walter (the protagonist) were drinking this whiskey. As soon as the episode ended, I ordered Knob Creek. The next day, it arrived, and that night, I drank Knob Creek while, of course, watching Breaking Bad. It tastes so good, and maybe I drank too much. You won't regret buying this whiskey, as far as I'm concerned.

I wanted to recycle the bottle, but the wax was stuck onto the glass. Rather than spend 30 minutes trying to scrape off wax with a kitchen knife, I tossed it in the trash. Please make easier to recycle! My husband likes your Bourbon, so I'm not worried about the quality of your product - just the packaging.
