Q: I have a 40 lb border collie/terrier mixed breed. Should I get medium or large?
A: KONG advises consumers to size up their KONG toys for safety so that their dog cannot fit the toy in their mouths towards their rear molars to utilize their jaw to engage in "Scissor biting" using the pressure from their jaw hinge to break down toys just as their mouths were designed to break down material like bones in the wild! When in doubt size up or move to the black extreme rubber for extra safety and durability! KONG Sizes: Small up to 20lbs, Medium up to 35lbs, Large up to 65lbs and Extra Large up to 90lbs and extra extra large for those big pups starting at 85lbs! The KONG User Guide found inside the KONG Rubber packaging recommends the size large for Border Collies :) The KONG User Guide is also available on our website and provides more detailed information with sizing recommendations based on average breed chewing capacities, common weight and mouth circumferences to help avoid destructive chewing and provide the safest and most sustainable toy option available. Again, when in doubt size up and go Extreme!

Q: my mini Aussie is 28lbs, what size should I get?
A: Hello! If that is your dogs full grown size, then a Medium KONG should be fine, as that is created for dogs between 15-35 lbs. However, you know your pet’s chewing behavior best for power chewers increase one or two sizes or try the KONG Extreme. Thank you,

Q: This seems like it might be messy when used with peanut butter. Any thoughts? Thanks!
A: Hi! We would recommend your pup be outside or on a non-carpeted area when using any stuffing. You can also freeze goodies inside to make it more difficult for your pup to un-stuff, once she/he is confident with the process. Please see our website for more information. https://www.kongcompany.com/ Thanks!

Q: I have a Standard Schnauzer (60 #) and a Redbone Coonhound (90#); what sizes would be good for them?
A: Based on the KONG Sizing Guide by Breed, we would recommend the XL Classic KONG for your two dogs. Please keep in mind that the KONG should be larger than the dog's mouth and if they are strong chewers, we recommend either sizing up or switching over to our Extreme Rubber!
