Q: Are these more durable that regular tennis balls? My dog can tear a regular one up, so hope the large size is made made with stronger materials.

submitted byMasha - 1 year agoA: Our SqueakAir Tennis balls are made for light to moderate chewing however the benefit to the Squeakair is that the material used is designed to be less abrasive to your pups teeth as well as provide a squeaker for more excited play.

You would expect Kong toys to be super durable but these are not! Our lab shredded it in one day and ended up needing a $3,000 visit to the vet hospital. Steering clear of Kong toys from now on!

Most Kong toys are highly durable, so I believed these would be similar. My lab shredded it in a short period of time, and it got stuck in her digestive track. It cost me over $1000 to deal with. I highly recommend avoiding this product if you have a dog that likes to chew toys apart. They are not durable or safe.

Quality is not expected for Kong product. Both balls were shredded to pieces in minutes. My dog has never done that to a ball or Kong toy ever. Very unexpected. I don’t recommend

I love these! I’m always worried about my dogs chewing up regular tennis balls or accidentally swallowing them, so these large tennis balls are perfect! I don’t have to worry about them getting these caught in their throats and they can play happily!

Simple and effective toy. For our 60lb dog, the ball fits in his mouth but is large enough to not cause a choking/swallowing hazard. Squeaker does take a strong jaw (or human hand) to get a full squeak, but our dog can get tiny squeaks with his bites. Really enjoy that it comes as a two pack, so we can hide one as a back-up.

Nice size, and good squeaker, sadly it only lasted one day with my 1 year old shepsky. Bought this brand cause they’re suppose to be more durable but honestly could’ve just gotten some tennis balls from the dollar store and they would’ve lasted the same amount of time… started ripping the fuzz off then eventually chewed through the whole ball. :(

I bought the medium balls for my yorkie 2 weeks ago and the squeaker detached from the inside of all 4 balls. Now they don't squeak. They detach after like 1 play session. The balls themselves are also way softer and less durable than just a regular old tennis ball.. not worth it

Best squeaker, wish they’d make it just a bit more durable. These are my dogs favorite but can kill them in 20 seconds if she’s too excited. She’s learned to extend the time - but I’ve got a whole bin of deflated balls because of it.

We have a guest dog, 100 lbish labradoodle, he plays “Get the ball when you throw it and run around playing keep away.” He loves the squeaker. I thought the oversized ball would keep him from destroying it, after a week of play it has a rip in the seam and he’ll dent it. He’s chewing to make it squeak not to destroy, so if you have a destroy it dog, they probably won’t last very long. The squeaker is LOUD. We only play with this toy outside and only during the day. Not an inside toy if you value your hearing and sanity. I’d say overall if you have a bit of a smaller dog (60-80 lbs?) whose jaws might not collapse the ball right away this would be a good long lasting toy. I think we’ll probably go through two balls in the two weeks he’s staying with us.

First, my fur baby is not a chewer. I throw these balls and she fetches them, so the wear and tear is only them bouncing on grass and her catching them or picking them up with her mouth. Occassionally, I'll notice that the inner rubber ball splits underneath the felt. More noticably, the felt will begin to peel off the ball due to the adhesive breaking down. It seems like this breakdown is due to the interaction with dog saliva. In some cases the rubber ball becomes visible due to this detachement, and in other cases the felt material becomes loose around the ball. I have had to buy more of these than I like to admit, some breaking down quite quickly and others lasting a bit longer. These are really too expensive for how quickly they can break down.

My Labrador Retriever loves these balls. I got the size large and it is a perfect size for him. Great ball for fetch. My dog is pretty rough with his toys, but I’m pretty surprised this ball has lasted over a month now. He loves this ball.

These are my dogs’ favorite squeaky toys! It would be good if they lasted longer though. One of my dogs makes a crack into them within about 5 minutes if I let her; that ends the squeaking.

My poodle mix absolutely loves these balls! They’re big enough that I know he won’t swallow them and he goes bonkers over the squeaks. He will play fetch all day with these if our arms could handle it. When we’re done, he prances around with one in his mouth, tossing it in the air himself and then chasing after it. I like that they’re bright so we can see them easily in the yard. Sure, he’s able to rip them up after a while, but they are just a tennis ball type toy, so it’s expected. If I didn’t want him to rip them up, I’d give him rocks. They are priced right, so it doesn’t matter if they eventually get a hole.
