Q: Does this cover gray hair?
A: No it does not cover grey.
submitted bySp - 5 years agoA: The box says it will not cover grays but I used it for the first time tonight, left it on the full 20 min, and it does seem to have helped quite a bit with my greys

Q: I touched up my roots--but now they are orangish. Will Winter Wheat gloss act more like a toner to eliminate that? I know it won't cover gray or add highlights--I would just like to get rid of the orange tones at my roots.
A: Mixing a bit of purple dye (like Manic Panic brand "Ultra Violet") into your conditioner and using this on your orange roots after shampooing may help. I've used this mixture for 2 years to tone down my blonde hair if it gets brassy. Be conservative with the amount of dye you use. The color of your dye/conditioner mixture should be between a light and medium purple - not dark purple.

Q: also — if you don’t use the entire bottle, can you keep what’s left for another use? or do you need to throw it out?
A: You've got an hour from the time you mix to the time you ought to throw it out because the active ingredients are no longer ...well... active. So, in short, just use up the bottle on your hair because you can't save it for another application a few weeks later.
submitted byKaityC - 6 years agoA: You can get two or more uses out of one bottle. I always split it, since one bottle is a lot for my hair and I don’t want the product to go to waste. Don’t save if already mixed! I use a mixing bowl, put half bottle of the gloss and half of the ‘developer’, then apply on wet hair with a coloring brush. Just like you would with any box dye. Phenomenal results every time, such a great product. Love it, can’t live without it!

Q: I haven’t colored my hair since December. Is this hair color? I have blondish hair and a few inches of grey. I don’t want defeat my goal of not coloring, but could use some shine and conditioning. Also the hair with color has gotten dull.
A: Hey, Great question! This is an in-shower treatment formulated to instantly boost vibrancy and shine, while neutralizing warmth on color treated or natural light blonde hair. This hair gloss is not permanent. The color lasts 3-4 weeks and will gradually fade, depending on how often you shampoo. Q: Is this gloss blue-based or purple-based (or a combination)? Wondering if it works better on orange-toned brassiness or yellow-toned brassiness?
A: It’s definitely more violet than blue. Purple toned. I have both.. orange, and yellow from trying to color my light brown roots( I have blonde highlights). It took down the yellow more than the orange, but definitely helped to mute both. I’d recommend it. It didn’t cause any damage, and helped a bit.

Q: if i have dark brunette hair with ash highlights, would this product lighten the darker parts of my hair, or would it just keep my ash from getting brassy? Thanks
A: It won’t lift (or lighten), but It does help tone down the brass.
