in-shower treatment is formulated to instantly boost vibrancy and
shine, while adding warmth to color treated or natural bronde
(between dark blonde and light brown) hair. It will help you keep your

HOW TO:
(Read all instructions thoroughly before glossing your hair)
1. wet your hair thoroughly in the shower.
2. mix bottle 1 and 2 together, shake gently and apply all over.
3. wait 10-20 minutes, depending on the result you want, then rinse thoroughly.
4. shampoo and condition as usual.

Q: Does Kristin Ess Signature Hair Gloss have a strong smell? I'm sensitive to fragrance.

A: No, it was not bad at all. I used it and then went to bed and I did not wake up all night to a WEIRD smell as I would when I used hair dye. there is, of course a smell while you are using it, while it is on your head, but it is not "fumey" and not horrible. You are instructed to wash your hair after rinsing the product out, so that may be why the lingering smell was not strong or bad.

I wanted to try an at home gloss because I normally do a gloss at the salon but still have a few months until my next visit and my hair was needing a little something. Decided to try this out because I have black hair already but I go for a gloss for the shine and dimension it gives. The price of this was fine and what I feel salons should charge for a damp hair bottle application, but salon glosses tend to cost at least two-three times this D.I.Y. kit. I loved the ease of application and it was so smooth and detangling almost, I thought I was going to love it when applying. Then I left on for max time and washed out, shampooed twice, conditioned as normal. Somehow this left my hair and scalp so dry. Even after deep conditioning, I’m still nursing my hair back to the shine it had before the gloss. The scent also is so hard to get out of my hair. I’ve washed my hair a few times with a double shampoo and still can’t rid my hair of it and it’s not the best scent honestly. I was so bummed because this product had great reviews for the most part, but it was a big miss for me and I can’t wait for my hair to return to normal.

The color never faded. I had to go to a salon to fix the coloring. I recognized when using it that my byalage would impact how saturated my hair would be, but I never anticipated it wouldn't fade at all after 8 weeks. It also brought out the natural red undertones in my hair. If I wanted to permanently color my hair dark brown, I'd use it again....but spending $300 at a salon to slightly lighten the color and re-add byalage worth it. Especially since the base color is still pretty dark.

I tried the black hair gloss, my hair was so soft before the usage of it. I followed the directions provided and left it on my hair for 15 minutes tops. It did make my hair darker and that's the only good thing I can say. My hair after the usage of this product became so brittle, crispy, dull, & dry. It looked shinier before. I've used the brand before as a hair gloss and have never had my hair so damaged from it, idk if they changed the formula but my hair got absolutely destroyed, I ended up using a hair mask to add moisture back into my hair but that barely helped.

It's a two part system you mix leave in for however long and end with beautiful hair that looks nearly salon quality. I grew up with a hair stylist and honestly this wasn't any different than the pro stuff I get at Sally's with everything you need. Gloves are included and the results are a rich beautiful multidimensional hair color.
