It's hard to rate a lock when no one has tried to break into it, but from what I can tell it looks sturdy. From what I understand, this is one of the better brands. You get two keys with the lock, so you can put one away and keep one on your key ring, which is nice. You can get replacement keys too if you need to. I've got the U running through my back tire and around my frame and a cable running through the front tire and locked into the U. I think the cables are easy to cut, but the longer it takes for someone to steal something, even if it's just a minute, increases their chances of getting caught. Some people have said the lock/key is finicky, but I haven't had any issues.
