I've tried other shampoos to keep my hair color lasting as long as possible. I've spent 6× the price on bottles half the size. My hair color is naturally medium ashy brown, and I color it dark plum (4 vv) every 5-6 weeks. This is by far the best shampoo I've used for my colored hair. The expensive brands don't even come close!!

She was thrilled with shampoo and conditioner, claimed they were as good as more steeply priced options. Had doubts initially, but upon trying them for the first time she was smiling pleased with the results. 4.5 Stars,

Tl;dr version - this is effective and affordable but might be (or just feel) too stripping if you have coarse hair like mine. I have coarse, dry, and unruly Southeast Asian hair that responds best to a minimal routine + deep conditioning. After starting to box dye recently for gray coverage, I also turned to this shampoo after noticing fading and an increase in scalp buildup. This shampoo does its job fine: on a 2x week wash schedule, it seems to help slow down fading and has a negligible fragrance. I ultimately don't like how my hair feels after I use it - immediately after rinsing, my hair feels squeaky and difficult to run my hands through, which I've never experienced with another shampoo. I need something more gentle/nourishing and won't be rebuying but think this could work well for others.

Being a natural blonde my entire life, my hair was turning darker with spots of gray so I decided to color my hair for the first time ever and so bought this shampoo as a protectant. After the first use it basically turned my hair to straw. I know it was from this product because when I showered and wet my hair, it felt soft, but as soon as I used this shampoo and rinsed it out, my hair was clumped, tangled, brittle and dry. I used a deep conditioner to no avail. Will not use again. Would not recommend, especially to blondes with fine hair.

Not only does this smell good, it's good for my hair too. Lathers up great with just a small amount and leaves my hair soft, shiny, and feeling clean. Keeps my color lasting longer and stops from fading and sun damage. My whole family loves this shampoo even without colored hair. Gentle enough for all.

I don’t feel this “protected” my color. Will look for something different once this is gone. Plus my daughter dislikes the smell of this so everytime I use it she makes sure to tell me my hair stinks.

Leaves a terrible residue behind on your hair. My bfs hair has dandruff after using this one time then he broke out into a rash so cannot use cuz we use same products since it's expensive nowadays. This won't be the one sadly and beings I color my hair I'm always watching my hair health overall for extreme damage coloring causes and this appears to only cover up what is damaged by putting residue over the hair follicle instead of truly improving the health of our hair which sadly is a common prob among drugstore brands these days. They put silicone & other stuff in the shampoo and conditioners to make us think that it improves our hair health cuz it feels great afterwards. Well I've learned a bit more than the avg person about this & I'm not fooled easily by that but the big clue thankfully was my bf and the residue of dandruff it left behind on his hair thankfully otherwise I never would've even looked becuz I had trusted this brand. Not no more turns out I shouldn't have trusted u all for over 10 yrs. Live and ya learn I guess. U all need to quit trying to cut corners on the consumers health. It's not how u tha k ppl for supporting it business year after year. I expect much more from a mass corp like this. You can afford to be healthy. You just choose not to and put us and our health in the process at risk. I could've had healthy hair by now. How you chose to thank me after using all these years ur products was by nothing. My hair is just as damaged apparently. It just feels like it's better cuz u have been covering it up with silicone etc. Nice.

This product left my hair weighed down and caused my hair to become oily. It also made my blonde hair color dull.

Wanted to try a more affordable option to salon hair care and to my surprise this fit the bill! Definitely recommend and will buy again.

I bought this shampoo because I had just gone ginger. This shampoo literally washed my dye out with every single wash. It also gave me dandruff. My scalp felt like there was buildup even when I would shampoo twice. I won’t be buying again.

I've used this shampoo for years. Like over 10 years. Nothing else. I lived the way it kept my color (blonde highlights) bright and light. Recently, my hair has become extremely dry and brittle. My hair is tangled in knots. I would occasionally use the conditioner that goes with this shampoo. Now, I have to use it every day or I can't even comb through my fine blonde hair. I recently started using my kids' shampoo out of desperation. My hair is completely different. Sadly, I think this must have changed and it is ruining my hair.

I’m not sure if this shampoo actually helped retain the color of the dye but it did make my hair feel dry and stray like. No amount of conditioner helped. I know it was the shampoo and not from the dye because after switching it got better. I would recommend a different option.

Love this shampoo. The trick is - you really need to use the conditioner or it will leave your hair dry and knotty. I usually have oily hair, so I am a “lather, rinse, repeat” person with any shampoo I use. I have the expensive salon stuff, but bought this because I didn’t like those products. For reference, my natural color is a light brown/going gray/white. It’s fading a little, but as it should since it is almost time to go back.
