Book Synopsis

Cinco mujeres diferentes.

Five stories of love, friendship and overcoming obstacles.
A passion for books.
And a mystery that will change them forever.

Madrid, 1917. Pola is determined to open her own bookshop, even if it means marrying a man she doesn't love. Violet flees England to escape the war, bringing modernity with her. Lorea is a medical student and writer whose heart has just been broken. Marga is trying to escape a failed marriage and Iris, the Beautiful Lily, is a famous cabaret singer who needs to take a break. After meeting in Pola's shop, they decide to start a book club. Their gatherings are an opportunity to share revolutionary ideas, but also a space for giving free rein to their true desires, even at the risk of losing everything.

In this novel about women, friendship and books, set in early twentieth-century Madrid, real and important figures from that time cross paths with a group of women willing to do anything to deviate from the script. A captivating story about dreams and resilience, passion, mystery and literature.
